But why? It literally prints money. Surely they can use that money to make another compelling product...
Because less people on payroll means more revenue to pay the execs and report to shareholders.
Greed.
It's trendy recently as downsizing will bring in all the good juju to the company, and cutting the C suit's salary will always invite bad juju.
Joke aside, EA is probably "struggling", seeing they lay off like 5% of their staff and also cut down respawn's new star wars game.
