It's purchasable in-game for chump change ya dinguses.

[-] Ericthescruffy@hexbear.net 19 points 6 months ago

Like, you mean with the in game currency you can farm from killing mobs?

[-] Mog_Pharou@hexbear.net 17 points 6 months ago

Correct. It is weird and lame that they add all this shit to micro shop, but it's all available in game for cheap. It would be like selling Skyrim gold. I don't know what fool would buy it.

....eehhh... folks with executive function issues or impulse control issues... these things are not designed to target fools.

It’s similar to DMC5, had the same kind of bs. It’s very inoffensive in the grand scheme of things considering the state of AAA monetization, but it still shouldn’t exist on such a game.

Oh good*, that's how it was in the first game. I was worried because they did do paid vouchers with no ways to gain them in Monster Hunter Rise.

*Not exactly good as it feels like someone somewhere is getting exploited still but there is relief

Yeah it's weird. It seems like they are targeting fools cause I don't know who would spend real money on in-game cheap af consumables. Still rather they wouldn't, but whatever.

Feels like execs wanted microtransactions and the devs threw this around to satisfy them.

There are some demographics - people with adhd, some autistic people, some people with compulsion issues, who are very vulnerable to this bullshit. Ask me how I know (adhd, bipolar depression) but don't ask me for an itemized list of my year to date spending on mtx.

[-] Mog_Pharou@hexbear.net 5 points 6 months ago

I never considered that. You right you right.

RuneScape has a makeover mage for 2k gold (you get 10k for learning about account safety right after the tutorial). Not to be confused with the barber and clothier who also exist and function similarly.

I don't think being unable to delete characters or start new games is permissable though. I only have this post for context though
