The same shit was with the zombies, for years they were fucking everywhere. Fortunately it did finally got old somewhat but it was like 2 decades and still can't disappear entirely.
Yeah as a big fan of the OG Romero zombie movies the weird glut of them the past couple decades was just... a bore
