@@@@This comes from above: it's strongly recommended to use a VPN for cytube. @@@@ There was a thread recently about vpns and a few you should explicitly avoid.

The visual cuisine for this Monday night is going to be scheduled a bit different but it will still be the same goodness.

We will start by resuming with a Sopranos episode after last week's hiccup. Previously on Sopranos, Furio came to the Jersey mob from Italy, Melfi offered to resume Tony's therapy sessions, one of Tony's long time friends from school made the mistake of gambling (it's bad) at Tony's big executive game and consequently lost his son's car, which Tony then gave to Meadow as a gift which she was understandably disgusted with.

Christopher also briefly took acting lessons that Adriana gave to him as a gift but, despite actually doing well, managed to fuck it up.

After that we will watch part 1 of the movie Enthiran, an Indian movie that has been dubbed a terminator knockoff that was originally planned for a few years ago. It is about a brilliant scientist creating an amazing robot - Chitti - for military use. Dr. Vasi must submit his creation for approval while Chitti roams the streets with Vasi's fiance, Sana. This movie looks very promising but will be separated in chunks because it is very long.

content warnings

This specific episode has a very transphobic scene at the 17 minute mark that lasts for about 3 mins

These next few episodes in particular deal with a person suffering from a severe gambling addiction.

Sopranos

  • Panic attacks
  • Profanity
  • Sexism
  • Homophobic slurs and homophobia
  • Racist slurs and racism
  • Nudity and sex
  • Violence
  • Depression
  • Suicide
  • Gun violence
  • Domestic violence
  • Abusive parents
  • Drugs and addiction
  • Alcohol, which is bad
  • Hospital scenes and medical procedures
  • Depictions of distress
  • Gambling
  • Gore
  • Transphobia

The show is predominantly about and primarily follows generally horrible people, a lot of the content warnings are relevant for each episode and often multiple times per episode.

Enthiran

  • Nudity: there is a scene where a woman is rescued from a fire however she is nude and is brought out to a crowd of people. She is very uncomfortable with this but it is brief and the nudity is blurred.
  • There are multiple attempts at SA but they are brief, not extremely graphic, and are stopped relatively quickly
  • The robot, Chitti, who looks and is played by a man, briefly dresses in woman's clothes as a joke
  • Sexism
  • Violence
  • Blood
  • Profanity

Hey

I had a thing planned. I thought we were all in agreement about when to play Bocchi the Rock.

I pinged everyone. I made a post specifically asking when to play the show. I made another post today announcing the show.

You chose to not make a post announcing a second Sopranos night. Instead, you made a ping list and left me out of it, and then started a second channel, all without telling me.

I wanted a chance to let everyone enjoy a great show. I don't understand why you have decided to go behind my back but I find it incredibly disrespectful. I am not trying to discontinue Sopranos night, nor discontinue anime night, just be able to watch the show that I uploaded with the most amount of people.

Liberalism manifests itself in various ways.

To let things slide for the sake of peace and friendship when a person has clearly gone wrong, and refrain from principled argument because he is an old acquaintance, a fellow townsman, a schoolmate, a close friend, a loved one, an old colleague or old subordinate. Or to touch on the matter lightly instead of going into it thoroughly, so as to keep on good terms. The result is that both the organization and the individual are harmed. This is one type of liberalism.

To indulge in irresponsible criticism in private instead of actively putting forward one's suggestions to the organization. To say nothing to people to their faces but to gossip behind their backs, or to say nothing at a meeting but to gossip afterwards. To show no regard at all for the principles of collective life but to follow one's own inclination. This is a second type.

Yeah, this sucks.

To add on, I did try to ask, I made an entire post about when to watch the show https://hexbear.net/post/2299483

Perhaps I missed other compromises that were trying to be made. I just wanted to let everyone watch a great show about social anxiety and learning to love yourself. I didn't realize that the show would be so close to home.
