Okay, but how does that definition not precisely describe a tool?
It sounds like it very much is a tool, in the exact usual sense of the word.
I guess they think tools are just things like pliers, wrenches, grinders etc. without realizing they themselves are the real tools they made along the way
They were guinea pigs. Their "tooliness" is just a side effect of the experiment.
And it's definitely "multi"
