RULES
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
- Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
- Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world

I would take a cat over a dog any day, as I'm not a fan of pets that are clingy or constantly seek approval. I get the appeal of a bundle of energy that just want you to love/be proud of it, but it's not my vibe.
I would also rather scoop a box indoors than carry warm bags of feces outside, and I spend as little time as possible outdoors once it's below -30.
Get a herding dog. They accept you and they might like you, but they are autonomous and decide for themselves what's to do. And they don't want to be inside anyways, so all you need is a big garden. Maybe some sheep.
Or, you know, just get the cat that you want...
I don't use a bag, I use a shovel/ scooper thing in the yard.
And poops are super easy to pick up when it's cold lol
