This is not me standing up for the peepeepoopoo 5, just saying that's a wide enough time span where there's been a pretty noticeable amount of turnover in design tends, etc. Plenty of games from the seventh gen absolutely feel dated

Rockstar: 2004>2014: GTA: SA to GTA5 , huge changes
Naughty Dog: 2004>2014: Jak 3 to Last of Us, huge changes
The biggest game companies are just re releasing their 7th gen games over and over again
