It was a reference to a quote by possibly Bono about English. "We took their language and we fucked it up." Not a fan, but the quote stuck somehow.

My quote was tounge in cheek, so don't get yer knickers in a twist. I did in fact agree with your idea. If using dm's, despite noone else using it, gets you guys to use metric I'm all for it. The fucking up part was using the metric system in a way nobody else does. It's not really a problem because it's so easy to convert to a normal unit if some nutjob decides to use dm's. ;)

I am aware of how your archaic system works and when to use what unit.
