They can even have him return as the same Bond that defected when he learned that the "good" guys are the bad guys. Then they can do the classic dropping of the curtain and new Bond questions everything he knows because everything old Bond is saying holds water.
I'm not sure brosnan is canon anymore. But Brosnan as a bone villain would be incredible to see.
We have an action scene, then boom, cut to hard core penetration. Then another action scene, back to full penetration, and it just keeps flipping back and forth until the movie just kinda, ends.

Bond is a title, not a person. They can do whatever they want.
That's a fan theory that was disproven multiple times (even though it would make the series more interesting)
Didn't they already do this with GoldenEye and Skyfall?
It is a trope and Bond films have never been about originality and groundbreaking writing.
