Minecraft was also not made by one single guy. Notch made much and created the base, but already long before Microsoft took over, so much stuff was done by other people, e.g. Dinnerbone.
Woah, that's a funny way to spell Hatsune Miku.
The old old reddit days where notch released it there first.
Those were the glory days.
Being first debuggers/beta testers for Minecraft and duckduckgo now seems like an eternity away.
Fun times.
Pssst, n*tch cashed out and turned into a major piece of shit. The internet tries not to talk about him.
Last I heard he lives alone in a mansion in beverly hills all sad and depressed in his piles of money that can never replicate the true feeling of human connection and friendship that he yearns for. I almost kinda feel bad for him, but then I remember hes only sad and lonely cause hes an asshole.
I feel like he wasn't the most pleasant guy to begin with but being just an indie dev kept him grounded. Winning a lottery boosted his ego and made all his bad traits show up turning him into incellionaire. If anything it's a modern cautionary tale.
Fairly sure he moved back to Stockholm and spent most of his time there shortly after.
Ah. I never followed up. I think it was first sold for like 10 bucks on reddit. Last I ever heard was when he sold it to ms and everyone on reddit cheered for him.
It all was so long ago.
Yeah not long after that he started posting a ton of anti-semitic bullshit
Honestly, that's just really questionable, trying to ignore questionable people. It is okay if you enjoy Minecraft, but just completely ignoring that a lot of it is based on the work of an awful person, is not good.
Good old Hatsune Miku!
When I got the game shortly after Survival dropped, the only other person credited with working on the game was the artist that did the music. Just like Dwarf Fortress pre-Steam version where it was just ToadyOne making the entire game, and his brother who made the music used on the main menu screen.
Yeah, and it was very glitchy. I just remember you could see mobs through the floor in some angles against a wall.
