cringe

Hell, my Pixel even trickle charges until my earliest alarm to preserve battery life... This is just sad lmao

Yeah, are they genuinely not already doing this kind of stuff already? My Xiaomi does that as well as adaptive charging based on my usage etc.

iOS has adaptive charging. They just don't give charging estimates.

[-] MolotovHalfEmpty@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

That's a little better, but seems like a weird UI oversight.

Ironically iPhones have done that for a long while now, but for some reason haven’t had a timer

[-] TransComrade69@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago

No timer but has trickle charge cringe

Somehow i never connected the trickle charge target with my alarm settings. I was WAY over complicating it in my presumed implementation 🤦‍♂️

The iPhone has this feature

[-] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

iPhones also do that and have for years. Like idgaf about Apple but people in this thread are talking about a product they are proud non-owners of as if they are experts. I’ve seen four or five “my phone does this, stupid iPhone users!” that are talking about features iPhone has also had for years lol. Apple is a shitty tech company, don’t need to be making shit up to criticise them.

trickle

iOS and iPhones have a giant amount of features to preserve battery life and health, it's actually really good. Also they're consistently more serviceable than a pixel.

You mean like just deleting every app that runs in the background for ten minutes? Not really much better than Samsung.

[-] downloadmydad@hexbear.net 1 points 1 week ago

No there’s a whole suite of ways that the phone knows it’s being used or not. It limits charging capacity for longevity etc, and it’s fairly advanced. It’s the reason iOS devices consistently compete for usable battery life hours with android devices that have much bigger physical battery cells.

Oh, well if the industry magazines' benchmarks say so then I won't bother you with my own experiences with switching... Clearly I was spreading disinformation. Nevermind! 😅

Personally I found Apple does what Samsung does slightly better, but there is no comparison with the battery conservation of customized operating systems on droids. Samsung and Apple both suck.

I’m not gonna tell you that either corporate OS is great but they’re certainly both aware of the concept of battery optimization.
