the first time i met takei in person was in the 90's and listening to his story reminded of the other stories i heard from shatner and nimory and doohan also in person when i met them as well during roughly the same period while i was in the star trek fan club.
people in the future won't have memories like mine of these and other people and it makes me glad that the roddenberry archive is a thing now since it's there and ready to preserve the stories of other people after their time has likewise passed and i find it comforting somehow.
the video on the archive's front page is a real tear jerker too and despite it having no dialog; i wish that the experience in las vegas was still a thing so that i had a place to geek out whenever the urge hit.
