I don't understand...
Calvin is, for lack of a better term, a little shit. Basically, his mom decided to become a stay-at-home parent since she was used to stress and frustration, which are things that a young child would also have in spades.
Oooohhhh i misread the "so" as like the continuation of the previous sentence unrelated to the getting used to it part. Thank you!
