I remember reading ages ago that reindeer do that the other way around too - they learned to drink human piss when the farmers ate the mushrooms because it would get them high. So now reindeer are attracted to Siberian herder piss.

I have no clue if that anecdote has held up, the book I read it in was on some real hippie shit

Well, FWIW, I drank my own pee. It tasted like mushroom tea.... Then the next time, it tasted like piss. Very much night and day
