The ability of carbrains to put the responsibility for all the negative consequences of cars onto literally everything but cars is truly astounding
Cor people think every road should be the autobahn, regardless of its purpose or what's next to it.
It's the car lane's fault the guy drove into a concrete barrier?
Yes, had the car lane never been there, he wouldn't be driving on it and so never collisioned with a conspicuous stationary object.
We value the safety of car drivers so that's why I'm demolishing all highways and compacting every single personal car larger than a Fiat 500
So according to a comment in r/fuckcars, this isn't a bike-lane barrier at all. Which makes sense to me because I was having the hardest time trying to figure out where the bike lane was in the photo (the lane on the left seems to be a car lane, as does the one on the right, seeing as they're both full car-width, which bike lanes almost never are).
So not only is this person blaming this braindead driver's ridiculous error on a bike lane, they're blaming it on a bike lane that doesn't actually exist here.
Moments like these make me wonder how many people have gotten all their ideas about driving a car from video games.
We're gonna have to start building more aggressive bike barriers
Czech hedgehogs and anti-tank ditches for every cycle lane.

Yeah honestly the fact that it tapers on instead of being just a wall is pretty friendly to the morons that ram into it at the cost of possibly launching the vehicle god knows where
"Do you see what happens, Larry?! Do you see what happens when a truck is driven by an ass?! This is what happens!"
Dude, the smash cut to the dude angrily driving then Donny and Walter slowly pull in and out food into frame is one of my favorite jokes in cinema.
I forget the reason why, but I was at a city council meeting and some guy went up and started screaming about the bike lanes in the city and how they took up room and no one used them (they are the worst I have seen)
I used to date a girl that complained about all of the bicyclists in my city enough times that it stuck in my memory.
cars in nyc are a cancer. The city would be perfect for walkability if all the damn cars would go away.
My parents will always complain about the bike lanes in our neighborhood to the point where it’s annoying. They say shit like “these bike lanes are stupid because they make our roads ugly and it makes me drive too close to them and I could hit it.”
:wonder-who-thats-for:
oh no i'd hate to have ugly roads
Someone compared the effects of covid (a disease that attacks epithelial cells) to something that disintegrates a city's asphalt and concrete, and I've been thinking about that a lot
Covid - The lifted truck of the cell.
Tbf a lot of bike infrastructure meant to keep cyclists safe actually does the opposite. City titties spring to mind.
Motorists causing accidents and more traffic for THEMSELVES as I pedal right by I see no problem.
ok and?
I agree, morons driving into metal barriers does cause accidents
