Snip:

Prominent Al Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif and five others were assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on a media tent at Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital late on 10 August.

Journalists Mohammad al-Khalidi, Mohammad Qureiqaa, Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Alaywa, and Mohammad Nofal were killed alongside him.

“The number of martyred journalists [since the start of the war] rises to 238 after the announcement of the martyrdom of journalist Mohammad al-Khalidi, joining his five colleagues killed in yesterday’s massacre,” Gaza’s Government Media Office said in a statement on 11 August.

“We hold the Israeli occupation, the US administration, and the countries complicit in the genocide – such as the UK, Germany, and France – fully responsible for committing these heinous, brutal crimes. We call on the international community, international organizations, and all bodies concerned with journalism and media around the world to condemn the occupation’s crimes, work to deter it, prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and bring its criminals to justice,” it added.

Here in the UK this is being reported very aggressively. Al Jazeera has a number of former bbc workers and I'm quite sure they're still well connected with colleagues and well respected among journalists here. Killing Al Jazeera journalists is not going to be viewed or reported as any different than killing any other journalist.

Israel's existence itself is now a crime of historical proportions. I hate that the Palestinians have to live in a world where this demonic entity was imposed onto their lives.

The bullshit accusation is that Anas Al-Sharif, one of the journalists killed, was a Hamas member, and even a leader of a Hamas cell, which somehow he did as a side hustle during the moments in between constantly recording and reporting on conditions in Gaza.

The documents that (I think) the IDF posted on Twitter to try to substantiate this (which may be forged) indicate that he was part of Hamas's military branch in some capacity up until a few months before Oct 7th, but due to shelling or something like that, he had damaged hearing and vision and was deemed unfit for combat and released from duty.

As Hasan regularly says, if the IDF's own professed standards for valid military targets and practices were universalized, Iran could nuke Tel Aviv and it would be considered a legitimate military action.

They've all formerly been in the IDF! They're all terrorists!

That's giving the Israelis too much credit. They totally just typed in some rando names, screenshotted it, and posted it. Something like this:

LIST OF AMERIKKKAN TERRORISTS:

JOE BIDEN CODENAME: GENOCIDE JOE

KAMALA HARRIS CODENAME: I'M SPEAKING

DONALD TRUMP CODENAME: TEFLON DON

ELON MUSK CODENAME: V0Y4G3R

JAMES SMITH CODENAME: UNKNOWN

SIGNED,

-- CIA (we're totally the CIA you guys this is a secret list do not share this with anyone, especially the FBI or The New York Crimes)

Anas Al-Sharif - Wikipedia:

From 2023, Al-Sharif faced mounting threats from the IDF, including phone calls, voice messages, and social media campaigns,[16] which claimed that he was a Hamas operative.[7][17] The IDF's Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, accused Al-Sharif and other journalists of terrorism, while human rights organizations and Al Jazeera described the claims as baseless attacks aimed at justifying the killing of journalists and suppression of unfavorable reporting towards Israel.[7][8][18][19] The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called the attacks against Al-Sharif a "precursor to assassination" and urged international action to protect him and other journalists in Gaza, highlighting the deliberate risk faced by local reporters as the "last eyes and ears of the outside world" on the conflict.[7][19][20][18] In July 2025, Al-Sharif told the CPJ that he lived with the "feeling that I could be bombed and martyred at any moment".[21]

On 31 July 2025, UN Special Rapporteur Irene Khan condemned repeated threats and smear campaigns by the Israeli army against Al-Sharif, calling them dangerous attempts to silence his reporting on the war in Gaza. She highlighted how Al-Sharif, described as "the last surviving journalist of Al Jazeera in northern Gaza", had been accused without evidence of being a "Hamas terrorist", placing his life at serious risk. Khan stressed that, while Israel bars international reporters from entering Gaza, it simultaneously targets and undermines local journalists, who serve as the world's "eyes" on atrocities.[22][23]

On 10 August 2025, Al-Sharif was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.[1][24] His colleagues Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa along with two others were also killed in the bombing.[1] The Israeli military confirmed they had targeted Al-Sharif, reiterating their claim that he was a Hamas fighter.[25] According to BBC News, the Israeli military has not provided sufficient evidence for their accusation.[5] Al-Jazeera condemned the killing as a "premeditated assassination" intended to "silence voices in anticipation of the occupation of Gaza",[25] referencing Israel's recently announced plan to occupy the Strip.[26] At the time of his death, Israel had killed at least 234 journalists during the Gaza war,[1] including 10 Al-Jazeera journalists.[27]
