I'm not wading into some 100+ comments thread, so I'll comment here instead:

  1. A lot of this is because we are on some shitty Reddit clone that doesn't have a read button. I pretty much just used the upvote button as a read button on Reddit. It's something that I had to unlearn on here.

  2. People are going to accidentally upvote stuff they shouldn't have upvoted, especially when they're on their phone. I know on Twitter, some people would just block you because you accidentally liked something they don't like. This is why I use an alt when browsing Hexbear on my phone. I don't want to be put in a situation where I get banned because my fingers accidentally upvoted something that I shouldn't have upvoted.

  3. I'm glad you're still around. I was worried the dunk tank drama had chased you off the site.

For much of Eastern Europe, they were only socialist because the Red Army stomped on the native fascists. How deeply rooted can Bulgarian socialism even be when Bulgarian socialism only existed because the Red Army liquidated Bulgarian fascism? It's completely different from places like Cuba and the DPRK where socialism was brought forth by the masses of people under the guidance of a vanguard party. I don't want to say that Bulgarian socialism was "fake," but its hold on society would be weaker relative to Cuban socialism unless there was a huge undertaking conducted by the then socialist government to cultivate love and loyalty of Bulgarian socialism among the Bulgarian masses.

Overall, I agree with shipwreck's analysis, but it's tempered by these things:

  1. The US will not lose its seat in the throne without a war. Yes, I don't think China is optimizing its fiscal policy for the sake of weakening the US, but if China actually did, the US would almost certainly push towards a hot war against China. US foreign policy operates under Thucydides Trap and if it gets to the point where the US is about to lose the throne, they will either pursue or threaten to pursue a hot war as either a last ditch effort to hold on the throne or to say that if the US can't have the throne, neither can China. So the question is not whether Chinese economists are neoliberal but rather whether the party and people are willing to bear the cost of direct military confrontation. If they're not willing to, then they will continue the status quo. It literally doesn't matter if every single Chinese economist has their brains replaced by clones of Michael Hudson's brains.

  2. Shipwreck vastly underestimates the internal contradictions within the US which permeates throughout US society. I suspect this is because they weren't raised in Burgerland. In their analysis, they even admitted that China's more timid moves has good short term and medium term benefits but questionable/bad long term prospects. But I don't think it's good analysis to leave it at that because if the US lacks the means (and it absolutely does lack the means) to resolve those internal contradictions, then whatever roosters that should come home to roost in China will never come because the US will suffer even more from those unresolved internal contradictions. You can even see this happening with Trump. Shipwreck has more or less been right about the economic dimension of the war in Ukraine, but with regards to how Biden is some 5d chess grandmaster, it's not so much that Shipwreck is wrong but more that Biden will not be in office forever and his subsequent successors (ie Trump) might not and most likely will not have the same talent in 5d chess as Biden. I think Trump's second administration is going to challenge much of what Shipwreck has said because if Trump's administration wind up sabotaging what Biden's administration has carefully build, then the the bloomers could just say that China purposely didn't rock the boat because they knew Trump would fuck it up for them.

I agree with you, and I'll go one step further. Hasan needs to be prepared for unhinged Zionists attempting to murder him and his family. This ranges from hiring security to being prepared for self-defense to moving out of the US. The cold harsh reality is that Hasan is no longer safe in any Western country. These Zionist freaks are no joke when they feel like the legal system will protect them, and they will be protected. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't particularly like his content or particularly respect streamers as an occupation. But I know a call to "rid this troublesome priest" when I see one.

People in this thread shouldn't be in some celebratory mood. Things are going to escalate really fast from here. Kicking him off Twitch is a given and an inevitability, but the Zionists will not stop there. They will first start to do light property damage like slashing his tires. Then they'll escalate to something like firebombing his house. Then they'll escalate even further by trying to harm but not kill him and his family.

Remember, we saw a bunch of Zionist football hooligans attempt to conduct a pogrom on Dutch Moroccans and the entire Western media go, "uh atkually, the pogrom was conducted against the hooligans not by the hooligans." This is no joke, and I hope Hasan doesn't treat this as one.

Yeah, I have no idea why people even bother with Western sources at this point, especially since the genocide in Gaza has exposed them so thoroughly. It's one thing to read Inventing Reality or Manufacturing Consent, but to see it happen in real time is another. They shamelessly made up a fake pogrom less than two weeks ago, but some people here still think Western MSM is credible lol

You know how every once in a while, you have a dream where you're supposed to do something in front of a live audience like give a speech except you didn't come prepared whatsoever but you still had to do it anyways and the rest of the dream is just you trying to go through the embarrassing trainwreck as quickly as possible?

She's living that dream.

Edit 1: It has come to my attention that the Aussies were big mad and had used some copyright bullshit to take down the clip.

Half of the replies: I'm a repeat O- donor, but I won't donate a single drop more until real protections are in place, including high-volume ventilation in donor rooms/vans and high quality (N95 or P100) masks are required on all patients & staff. You have failed in your responsibilities.

The other half: $1 million you can have my unvaccinated pure blood

I'm planning on adding a dual-booting section to my guide on how to install Linux and I need some input from people who are dual booting Windows and Linux:

  • How did you allocate the partition for Linux? Did you use Disk Management from Windows or did you allocate the partition as part of the installation process?

  • How do you share data between the two partitions? Do you create a third partition that both OS partitions have access to? Do you use external drives/flash drives? Or do you just have no need to share data between the two drives?

What's the point of this post?

We all love to dunk on M$ for repeatedly fucking up Windows, and we all love to recommend installing the superior OS, but there hasn’t been a guide on how to actually do so. My aim is to create a guide on how to actually install Linux so that every time M$ fucks up, people can link to this guide (or any other successive guide) on top of the usual dunking.

Note: This guide is tailored towards people who are using Windows devices.

Why Linux Mint?

  • Linux Mint has a well-deserved reputation as the “newbie distro for people who came from Windows.”
  • Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, which is based on Debian, and all three distros combined have a wealth of information online owning to their popularity, meaning that there’s less obstacles in troubleshooting.
  • Linux Mint owning to its Debian heritage isn’t cutting edge or bleeding edge, meaning there’s a greater focus on using what currently works.

Which version of Linux Mint?

https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

Linux Mint comes in three main editions:

  • Cinnamon (←pick this one)
  • MATE
  • Xfce

Pick Cinnamon since this edition is more modern and closely imitates the Windows desktop environment (DE) the most. The other two use DEs that consume less resources, but don’t mimic the look of Windows as much.

How to create a USB boot drive?

There are various ways of creating a USB boot drive:

Live session:

After creating your USB boot disk with Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition, you need to boot from your flash drive. The exact steps vary, but you essentially have to go to your BIOS and either change the boot order or specifically boot from your flash drive. Once there, you’ll come across a couple of screens before arriving at the Linux Mint desktop.

There’s a desktop icon that tells you to install Linux Mint, but you don’t have to do it yet. In fact, nothing’s stopping you from just running Linux Mint like this through the flash drive (there are entire Linux distro designed to be run from a flash drive like, but Linux Mint isn’t one of those). The live session is also good to catch any hardware issues like your wifi not working.

Actually installing Linux Mint:

It’s honestly pretty straightforward.

Pick the language you want, which will mostly likely be English.

Pick the keyboard, which will mostly be what you’re already using.

Connect online so Linux Mint will install the latest programs. You can skip connecting online, and Linux Mint will install the version of the programs that are in the iso image, but you’ll have to upgrade all those programs at once later.

Check Install multimedia codecs. The codecs allow you to watch videos.

Unless you have some weird logical partition set up for your drive, just choose Erase disk and install Linux Mint, and let Linux Mint handle the partitioning. If your PC has multiple drives, I would suggest physically disconnecting the drives that you don’t want the installation to touch as a precaution. Obviously, do this while the PC is off.

Pick the time zone you live in.

Set up your username, hostname, and password. It doesn’t have annoying password complexity restrictions on what password you want to use. Just pick any password.

This is a slideshow while installation is taking place.

Once installation is complete, Linux Mint will prompt you to reboot your PC. When you reboot your PC through that window, you will eventually get to a black screen with a prompt asking you to remove the USB boot drive and press Enter. Do so, and your PC will reboot to a fresh installation of Linux Mint.

Say you want to go to twitter.com/dril.

"But AssortedBiscuits, that just redirects to x.com/dril"

Ah, but if you add an ?mx=1 at the end like twitter.com/dril?mx=1, the URL will then redirect to twitter.com/dril. From there, you can pretty much just use Twitter like normal. twitter.com/?mx=1 will take you to the normal Twitter login page or twitter.com/home if you're already logged in.

There they lie day after day, night after night, in a state of utter sensory deprivation, with nothing to distract from their wounds and pain. In the midst of this, Israeli medical interns can use their exposed, vulnerable flesh as a canvas for experimentation.

According to one whistleblower, the detention centre has quickly gained a reputation for being “a paradise for interns”.

There, they are allowed to use Palestinians as little more than lab rats and encouraged to carry out medical procedures they are not qualified to perform.

A whistleblower told CNN: “I was asked to learn how to do things on the patients, performing minor medical procedures that are totally outside my expertise.”

Such procedures were frequently done without anaesthesia. Unlike doctors in Gaza, Israeli doctors have ready access to painkillers. It is a choice not to use them.
