Yeah, Mao famously referred to America as a paper tiger.

In appearance it is very powerful but in reality it is nothing to be afraid of; it is a paper tiger. Outwardly a tiger, it is made of paper, unable to withstand the wind and the rain. I believe that it is nothing but a paper tiger

A NATO country will send troops to Ukraine to learn from the war. Russia said they will be legitimate targets.

Denmark sending troops to Ukraine to "learn drone warfare."

100% chance NATO troops will be directly involved in droning some Russians.

I posted about this in the mega, but yeah the fencing community is actually super welcoming to trans athletes and most lower level competitions are coed because sex differences are so minor in the sport. In fact, this transphobe very recently competed in a mixed competition where she went against men! She didn't seem to have any problem with it then.

Also, getting all the way on to the piste before refusing to bout is such a pathetic move. Absolutely deserved the black card.

Not writing a big essay about things means you can't write cringe liberalism.

I just wanted to be late to the party after the CPUSA and PSL statements got posted.

Twelve local Jewish organizations declared they will stop funding the Oregon Food Bank over them making a very both-sides "starvation is bad" statement.

Mr Stoltenberg said: "Ukraine’s rightful place is in NATO. Ukraine will become a member of NATO. The work we are undertaking now puts you on an irreversible path towards NATO membership, so that when the time is right, Ukraine can become a NATO member straightaway."

https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_225160.htm

There goes the possibility of any country called "Ukraine" existing once this war ends. Russia would be fools to leave them with even Lvov after this.

Looks like Turtletank got some upgrades and a rear window. It's like a tactical dacha.

Anyone remember CrackGate from that one mtg event a few years back?

Also I used to work at a homeless shelter that was located very near a card shop. It's owners would go to the community meetings where we would have to justify to these NIMBYs that we deserve to be there - awful stuff. One meeting, the owners of the card shop made a shitty comment about how smelly the shelter must be, and clearly didn't want us there.

My boss wasn't having it. We ran the cleanest shelter in the whole damn city. I had practically dragged people to the showers when they couldn't keep their hygiene up, and that place was scrubbed floor to roof daily. So boss man gets out of his chair like "I run the cleanest shelter in this city. I have been to your Friday Night Magic events. We are not the ones with a hygiene problem here!"

Don't think it endeared us to the community, but it did shut them up.

Reddit banned RussianWarFootage, UkraineRussiaReport gone private. Pro-ukraine opinions only on Reddit.

It's fun reading old reddit posts about Euromaidan and seeing people like "why not just split the country in half and the east can go to Russia?"

Like well done, posters from 10 years ago - you called it.

Getting real tired of people from nazi collaborator countries telling me that Russia is some eternal existential threat to them.

Learning how many Israelis are first or second generation colonists has really radicalized me on decolonizing Palestine. Around 30% of Israelis are foreign-born. They should go home. Another 30% are second generation - their parents had no right to be there and many still have ties to the old country. They should go home. If most Israelis can't even rightfully claim that even their grandparents lived there, I see no reason to support "Israel's right to exist."

I'm mad. I had at least assumed that most Israelis could be considered "innocent civilians", but no - the majority of them are actively involved in the genocide and colonization of Palestine. Makes me sick.
