Morality is whatever people believe is good or bad. It's a useful construct that is essential for collective existence. When a society is unfair, the ruling class will define challenges to their rule as immortal. When Europe was at war, the ruling class said desertion was immortal, while the real leftist minority said desertion was good. Who was right? You choose, do you want to live in a militaristic imperialist hellscape? If yes then by all means choose war as the moral option. Building a new society means building a moral code. I believe this is the materialistic view of what mortality is

I can't begin to explain how difficult translating a text actually is. When I was at uni, language majors had two dedicated classes, one for translating from your first language and the other for translating to you first language. Both were the hardest classes to pass. I had bilingual friends there who had shit grades solely because their methodology was lacking. In the philosophy department, teachers were constantly discussing who translated what text and how it might impact our understanding. Teachers would compare different translations and ask us to always tell who the translator was in our research exercises.

Language is a fucking mess, translation is horrible, that's why we only do it when it's a potential best-seller

Nothing better to a non-USian than to uncovered new pieces of your whack lore we're all blissfully unaware of

Good non-woke game narration has your main character constantly replying with useless snarky Marvel-type punchlines to each NPC's sentence

"Indie game fan" when a studio doesn't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay for voice acting

Still mad at Unreal Engine 5 for using visual scripting instead of a high level scripting language

Mac n' cheese should be your number one priority it's the thing that holds back progress on the rest obama-sad

Otherwise I must confess that my main motivator for creation is to see other people do art I find bad and thinking I could do better, pretty toxic obviously but goddamn effective, use at your own discretion

Okay I'm a bit lost by the current laptop market between the heaps of bullshit companies are putting us through.

What I need is something decently powerful with the great battery life you find in ARM-based CPUs like Snapdragon and Apple Silicon chips.

I want the lightweight durable shit like Macbook Air you know, something I can realistically use everywhere.

I'm open to both Windows and MacOS because both are cringe, unfortunately I can't have Linux on it for reasons. (Don't worry I have it on my desktop). But I still can't decide whose the lesser evil, especially since all ARM Windows are boasting AI bullshit and I hate it I'm never gonna use that shit EVER anyway and I'm afraid I'm just paying a premium for their marketing bullshit.

Obviously Lenovo and Qualcomm are eyeing me for xigma-male reasons but Asus Zenbooks are looking kinda cool

But ffs Snapdragon X CPUs come in three tiers and for some reason it's hard to find the highest end (called "Elite") where I live (Europe) and I have no idea if I really need one for music production (Reaper) and coding (Godot Engine)

It's so fucking complicated screm-a aaaa

Thanks in advance for you precious help

I'm not kidding. Urban areas with a high density of population are always more left-wing than rural areas. Lonely losers are the ones who become incels/groypers and shit. Workers who worked in small businesses with few colleagues were the most likely to support the literal NSDAP in the 30's. The more people you talk to the more likely you are you support left-wing ideas. I just have to make a shit ton of friends and the revolutionary spirit will bring about communism. Wish me luck comrades. Also logout gunpoint-alt

Trump won the primary but somehow there's a limitless supply of moderate Republicans begging to be persuaded to vote for the Democrats... Marvelous things are happening in Chuck Schumer's mind

It's a book called Les Guerriers de l'Hiver (Winter Warriors) by Olivier Norek who was a cop before he started writing fiction.

Apparently his first book was ok. It was about humanising migrants who were stuck at the French border, so I guess he's not a literal racist but rather "rabid liberal sides with nazis when talking WW2"

Nonetheless the book is just glorifying the Finnish and depicting Soviets (well, he calls them "Russians" all the time lmao) as a zombie horde. It's all about how the "White Death" guy was a hero. I randomly opened a page and I kid you not first thing I read was "-Will we be free after that?" "-Well as free as one can be in Russia" agony

Very cool mister anti-racism cop, and thank you to my fellow social democrats for thinking I wanted to read the most clownish anti-soviet propaganda by some lib who's got zero background in History
