!world@lemmy.world mods once again proving their incapacity to host a space for “world” news.

Terminology citation

Under Canada's Westminster-style parliamentary democracy, the terms government and Government of Canada refer specifically to the prime minister, Cabinet, and other members of the governing party inside the House of Commons, but typically includes the federal public service and federal departments and agencies when used elsewhere.[7] This differs from the United States, where the executive branch is referred to as an administration and the federal government encompasses executive, legislative, and judicial powers, similar to the Canadian Crown.

Emphasis mine. In particular I note that capitalization is not a factor. The fact that Voroxpete didn’t specify “capital G Government” doesn’t make a difference as I originally thought when reading.

This guy is clearly snooping the downvoters as an instance admin and retaliating against them. Wouldn't even have noticed if I didn't stumble onto the modlog in Voyager by accident.

I might be of course wrong in my assumption. But I don't remember ever interacting with anyone from that instance, I'm not subscribed to those communities and the dates correlate.

mod Banned granolabar from the community News

reason: Continued trolling, previously banned.

mod Removed Comment North Korea by granolabar reason: Trolling

mod Removed Comment NK by granolabar reason: Trolling

mod Removed Comment It is a essentially an anti elite shill campaign along with sign of solidarity with Luigi, he did it or not, and you show up to the party with: > askhually murder is bad guys, mkkay... Like no shit sherlock, but that's what are focusing here on. Murder is provocative and it got people talking about health insurance being a scam and the relationship these companies have with people who pay for everything. But sure murder is bad, Brian Thompson is a piece of shit so nobody cares. They prefer to care about the people he killed and hopefully a new system where there is no room for his kind. There dozens off the shelf solutions, just do it. by granolabar reason: Calling for violence

Noticed reddit is also now getting suppressed. I guess it was matter of time.

Makes you wonder why somebody on fedi would be playing along with what American ruling class needs...

Honestly, I'm not mad, its just funny how state/corporate sponsored violence is all okay but a pleb making a joke (its not even a real threat c'mon) is not okay.

Formatting in the modlogs is weird since the spacing is messed up, but the original comment looked like this:

Netanyahu:

Delays ending the genocide for as long as he can

Deny that genocide is happening

Next comes Depose

Great, what next?

"Kill Hitler" also gets removed? 🤣

Also: Depose =/= Kill

Need to talk about mod action but don't know for sure if it deserves a full post? Write about it here. A mod is just threatening actions instead of actually doing it? Someone just removed your witty comment because they lack humor? A self-important sticky announcement? Generally having no chill? This might be the spot for you.

If you write something and it comes up worthy of a full post, feel free to make a full one later one about it. No judgement.

Remember you can always post about acts in other websites as well, not just lemmy.

Disclaimer: Fuck the rich and please consider reading 1 paragraph before you go to comments to explain how I am a bootlicker. Thank you ٩(•͈ ꇴ •͈)و ̑̑❀

For context, I generally report all calls to violence, no matter who the “victim” is, whether they are a public figure or an anonymous user. I didn’t even register that the person I was “defending” was rich—I’m just aware that calls to violence are against most instances’ terms of service (due to legal threats). Genuinely sorry seahorse! I wish you just had something in your instance sidebar or even spoke to me instead of jumping to ban and “lib” insults!

Unverifiable information you will have to take my word for (per community rules)
Apologized to seahorse and got:

My own personal curiosities only adjacently relatedCorrect me if I’m wrong, isn’t this a bit of an abuse of federation? This is the same admin that pulled the move with the doxxing of Nick Fuentes. By banning users for reporting content that may violate our local instance rules, seahorse is making our local instances harder to moderate for our admins. (Honestly I respect the commitment to the running a very open and uncensored instance, but until Lemmy has the option to only report to local admins versus local & federated authorities, this may not be the best strategy?)

Anyway, this is pretty interesting. I’m honestly not too pressed about this (mostly I will miss !theonion@midwest.social) and curious what yall think. :)

The first sentence on the Wikipedia page for it calls it "a disputed medical condition." Even the CIA itself has admitted that cases are not caused by "a sustained global campaign by a hostile power." The State Department similarly released a report that it was highly unlikely the symptoms were caused by any sort of directed energy weapon. In fact, seven different US intelligence agencies released a consensus statement saying, "available intelligence consistently points against the involvement of US adversaries in causing the reported incidents."

But the clowns on .world don't care about things like truth or evidence, or even direct statements from the people who's boots they have in their mouths. If it makes an enemy of the US look bad, then it is absolute truth, and anything short of complete faith and loyalty must be purged from conversation.

I mean, is "Deny, Defend, Depose" equivalent of "Let's kill [Person]"?

To me it seems more of a "It'd be a shame if [Person] died" and not a direct threat. So do y'all personally think its considered a direct threat? And how would a court of law (in the US) see the phrase "Deny, Defend, Depose"?

I'm asking because I've seen a number of comments removed for that phrase, including one of mine.

As per .world worldnews mod, no discussing naughty stuff like jury nullification.

While this post is blowing up, here's the book referenced by the shooter:

Delay Deny Defend - Why Insurance Companies Don't Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It

By request: Full, uncensored video of the shooting. (Fucking obviously NSFW)

Jury nullification: A practical FAQ

Do I have to answer questions about jury nullification?

I said something along the lines of:

"Wow, I haven't had a reason to smile ear to ear in a while."

Along with

"Nah, the more dead ~~corpos~~ dragons, the better."

In response to some liberal going off about how violence is never the solution, not mentioning how this murdered dipshit has personally overseen a system that perpetuates harm, suffering and death (violence) in the name of profit.

...

Good ole' civility clause.

Whats the paradox of tolerance?

.world mods have never heard of it I guess.

Was banned from !egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone for calling out a Mod's misuse of the Egg prime directive to criticize trans people for helping out trans women in denial of their trans-ness. They're denying the validity of signs of being transgender, what the actual fuck, this shit is not okay. Then after banning me that dipshit locks the post so no one else can reply on it. How is this not power-tripping?

Well now this is trashy. I got permabanned from r/interstingasfuck for posting a comment in r/MensRights that was an attempt to correct some misinformation. I've never made a post in either subreddit and that was the only comment I've ever made in the MensRights subreddit. But r/interstingasfuck's bot decided to permaban me even though I've not broken any rules.

The ban

The single comment I've ever made on r/MensRights

Also I tried to make a post on r/MensRights (would have been my first post there) on me getting banned for making a comment and the mods there blocked it. You would think they'd love the chance to show they are victims of discrimination and censorship.

Man Reddit is trash.

Drag was banned from !tenforward@lemmy.world a day ago. As you can see, no comments or posts were removed alongside the ban:

In fact, drag has never commented or posted in the community:

Drag has no history of transphobia and no history of trolling. And drag can unequivocably prove that drag was never transphobic or trollish on Ten Forward, because drag has never said anything there. This is a ban for literally, provably, nothing.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
