Then don't reply with condescending comments and keep scrolling.

Oh wait, those are just those most likely to secede. Not wanting to join Canada.

Yeah let's take Alaska and complete the whole northern section of the continent!

I wonder which states the majority of these people are in.

Better yet. Schedules a meeting in a comedy club, doesn't show up and sends a text saying "go tell your jokes to somebody else."

[-] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 hours ago

No. You misinterpret what I'm saying and I don't like your tone.

Yeah because it's going so well for companies in the US right now. They're paying extra in tarifs, their stock price is plummeting with the stock market, they're losing millions in sales because the whole world is boycotting American businesses, and unless they suck up to Trump and the MAGAts they won't get any help.

Also, I was talking about wealthy people initially. Not corporations. But yeah, we should try to collectively tax corporations more globally. But that's another story.

They can keep running away to other countries, but at some point the other countries will catch up.

And it doesn't stop other countries with higher taxes from doing business.

Osti de tabarnak de calice!

Seriously though, this is a coincidence that he says this at the same time Carney says he wants Québec to roll back law 96.

Our French language protection laws is nobody's business but our own.

Mark Carney is old school conservative. Like, before they absorbed the old Reform/Alliance party and became far-right morally conservative nutjobs.

At least the NDP's tax cuts are for the working class and to try to lower the cost of living. So not as terrible.

But honestly, any tax cut is bad at this point. The government needs revenue. However, we should be taxing wealthy people more.

Bonjour les cousins de l'autre côté de l'atlantique. J'étais curieux de savoir si chez vous, vous faisiez un boycott de tous les produits et marques États-Uniennes?

Translation: To stay on X or not? Some elected officials think of leaving Elon Musk's platform.

What the article is saying is basically that a lot of the provincial MPs in Québec are thinking of leaving for something else. One of which, the health minister Christian Dubé, has already created an account on BlueSky.

We need to promote fediverse alternatives to our elected officials right now since everyone is worried about the control of information on Meta/X & Co.

Pierre Poilievre is a dangerous man that shouldn't be allowed to have the opportunity to lead our country.

I knew I had seen this option somewhere at some point in KDE's plethora of customization options. But why is it in the keyboard advanced options??? Shouldn't this be in the display config section? Or at least in the shortcuts section!

As described in this AskUbuntu post, basically every time there's some audio playback, there is a variable delay when the audio starts. It can range from anything like a fraction of a second to a full two seconds.

I noticed this first when playing YouTube videos and then it was excruciatingly obvious and a real problem while editing audio in Audacity.

If it's any good, I'm using an NVIDIA RTX 3070 and I'm still under X, not Wayland, and using Pulse Audio.

My audio is going to my HDMI connected monitor where my speakers are connected.

This is only happening since I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 24.04 earlier this September.

Update: Added my graphics card model.
