I'm in a very similar boat. I've been telling my husband gently that almost nobody in my family makes it to 70...

The developers who created Lemmy are leftists, and they run the lemmy.ml instance. The lemmy.ml (.ml is for Mali, btw) domain was chosen because ML can also stand for Marxist-Leninist.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but lemmy.ml users are known for being tankies. People don't like that.

However, some of you whipper snappers don't know that those of us with really old accounts joined back when lemmy.ml was the most popular instance. I just like FOSS things.

If they're US American, a plane is likely the only public transportation they've ever taken. If they live anywhere remotely rural, it's likely the only one available to them.

Hello all!

My new phone (Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 running Android 14) keeps giving me this alert that an app is giving full screen notifications. The app in question is the freaking telephone app, which I of course want full screen notifications from! There's no option to disable the alert. (The two choices are "go to options" and "not now," by the way. And "go to options" takes you to the telephone app's notification settings.) I cannot seem to find a setting related to this, and I've disabled every Motorola app (including system apps) that I can find in the app list. Although, some of them don't allow disabling.

Anybody familiar with this by chance? I'm getting this stupid alert for every other phone call.

Thank you!

He's a great manager, I'd imagine. He doesn't need to punish anyone for poor performance. He can just give them his signature look of disappointment, and they know.

This is the "Lagrangian standard model" - the mathematical formula explaining basically all physics as we know it.

I tried to make my duplicate as different from the original as possible, but they fell in love anyway

I've tried to find them to no avail. I'm guessing the box sets just aren't made anymore, but I figured it's worth asking in case there's some obscure one out there somewhere.

To clarify, I'm looking for a more recent Linux version. I know the older ones can be found on auction sites and the like.

Even if it did work, why would you do it? You'd still be playing League of Legends.

I remember finding them on the Internet somewhere in the early 2000s. I remember that Kimi was one of them, so it would have to have been after the second movie (Rugrats in Paris). Anybody remember these things? I can't find any details about them online.

Nobody asked, but if anybody is curious: "dick" is the German word for "thick."

You may now resume your laughter.

Selling drugs? Because, we've all been dealers before... I guess?

Artisan brioche buns. Plant based burgers are more expensive then the real thing for some reason (and full of salt). That Danish is a ripoff.

It's a type of fish, and they are making word plays with the name of the fish. Why? I'm not sure of the origin of this one. I imagine it's like the beans or the beef stroganoff memes - the origin doesn't matter much at this point.

No, they didn't. If they did it would be huge news.

I chose my instance 9 or so months ago purely because it was suggested by the Jerboa app at the time. In lieu of making numerous accounts to access communities that aren't federated with my instance, I was hoping to make a second account with a very "federated" instance. Any suggestions?

Despite being here for a while, I've mostly been a lurker til recently and haven't learned a lot. Thanks in advance.
