Having the ability to see images in my mind. Sounds like a cool ability, not sure if it would be a curse though.

It seems very similar to the "health star" system we have here...it is next to useless.

Situation:
Say I want to pick up a snack, do I go for a small bag of potato chips or a yogurt? Which is healthier?
Who the fuck knows, you can't compare two snack foods, that is a logical and reasonable idea, and we can't have that.

But it can also be deceptive, because the yogurt may have 2 stars and the chips have 4 stars, because they are only rated against their own categories.

There should be a simple system. Where everything is compared to a "standard"; like steamed broccoli, with no sauce.

I guess that taking some of a really big market allows them to reach profitability earlier. Potentially expanding their product stack to have smaller vehicles.

Also if a truck buyer who was going to go gas/diesel instead going for electric is overall better.

Having an electric alternative to all gas/diesel parts of the market is very important.

Ok firstly.

Never, work on anything that is still connected to a power supply.

This includes any stored energy. Isolate it first. Gravitational, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and chemical (if possible).

Don't fuck with stored energy.

Secondly.

Learn how to test if things are live, or have any stored energy.

Thirdly.

Once you KNOW you are safe. Go hard, learn all you can.

Here’s Why I Decided To Buy ‘InfoWars’ By Bryce P. Tetraeder, Global Tetrahedron CEO ☞ https://theonion.com/heres-why-i-decided-to-buy-infowars/

And let me say, I really do see it as a family. Much like family members, our brands are abstract nodes of wealth, interchangeable assets for their patriarch to absorb and discard according to the opaque whims of the market. And just like family members, our brands regard one another with mutual suspicion and malice.

About 1000 internet years ago. I saw one of those "demotivation" posters and I want to find out again.

The text was something along the lines of

Don't wait to be corrupted, embrace the evil inside. Be the chaos you want to see in the world.

The problem is not "Syncthing users" it is the others that we bring along with us.

I already have F-Droid on my phone, but the dozen others that I have promoted Syncthing to over the years do not. This is going to cause a bunch of problems.

This is much more important than what you portray here.

I was having a conversation about characters from various childhood shows.

I always thought that Oscar the grouch didn't make any sense. Why would you live in a bin?

But it occurred to me that maybe the Grouch evolved to hunt like a trapdoor spider, they hunt mainly racoons but also cats and anything else that happens into their bin.

Initially forest dwelling, with the rise of human civilisation; they have become adapted to living in cities which afford many pre-made "burrows" (bins). The lure of easy food, brings their prey to them.

I wonder what the vibration frequency of those straps is, once the wind is blowing through them.

Will they vibrate the roof into mush before they pull out of the ground and become metal ended whips?

I was reading a post about unique things you wouldn't want, such as a nasty medical condition named after you.

That got me thinking.

What is the most unique thing.

Being the tallest person doesn't count, because there is always a tallest person...

I thought maybe units of measure, there are not really that many units named after people. Newton, Pascal, ampere etc... Turns out there are quite a few.

Next thought was atomic elements, there are 19 named after 20 people. That is fairly unique 20 people out of the ~110 billion to have ever lived, have an element named after them.

As the title says.

If you don't know the discworld books by Pratchett, Granny Weatherwax it the most formidable character. She is a witch, but doesn't generally use magic to solve problems; preferring to use persuasion and manipulation. In saying that her magic is extremely powerful.

Maybe a bard with huge wisdom, persuasion and intimidation.

What is to stop Biden from cancelling the upcoming election?

Being now his powers are effectively unchecked, couldn't he just call off the election as an official act. Rather than stupid shit like ordering assassination or deploying the military, just say "I'm cancelling the election until such time this ruling is overturned and a constitutional amendment is enacted that states that the president is not immune from criminal prosecution"

I am running a Tabaxi rogue that is currently 4th level.

In a recent fight, purely to piss off the leader of a band of thugs, my character ran in the 20ft and lifted his gold pouch (lucky roll 19, for a total of 26), then proceeded to bonus action disengage. The feline agility racial ability allows me to double speed for a round, so was able to disengage to a distance of 40ft.

The DM was totally ok with this, I didn't actually do any damage and I "wasted" my turn for flavor and fun.

I get that you can't use slight of hand to perform a disarm, but what is are your thoughts on lifting daggers/arrows/spell components etc....which are not being held by an enemy?

This could be very OP if I'm allowed to steal a wizards components pouch, rendering them significantly less of a threat.

The freezing happen approx once per day, seems more often when connected to my android mobile hotspot (may be unrelated).

"journalctl -p err" gives:

nvme 0000:03:00.0: AER: Error of this Agent is reported first
pcieport 0000:00:02.4: AER: Error of this Agent is reported first

The nvme error, happens approx 10x more often.

I am running a WD_BLACK SN850X 4000GB, Firmware: 624281WD

I tried the WD website to see if there is a FW update, but there are only windows/mac tools and no link directly to the FW (that I could find).

System info:

OS: Linux Mint 21.3 x86_64

Update: it seems that the updated firmware has solved the issue, I have been running 4 days without a crash. Thanks to @rotopenguin@infosec.pub for pointing me to the Framework guide.....why is this not on the WD website and easy to find.

I have been thinking about making wildshape more fun, this is partly the fault of the “Honor Among Thieves” movie.

Wildshape should be more like a resource pool that grows with your character, similar to sorcery points or ki points.

Here are the mechanics of the change: You get a number of hours based on your druid level (moon druid Lvl+1). Using wildshape costs time based on the CR of the transform (min 1/4hr). You can transform as many times as you have time left. The time you can stay wildshaped is based on how much time you have left. The pool still resets on a short rest.

e.g. 1 - Non-moon druid. Could transform into CR0,1/8 or 1/4 for 1/4 hr each at level 2, a total of 4 times. Or for 3/4 hr twice.
e.g. 2 - Moon druid. CR1 transform for 1/2 hr, twice. At level 2.
e.g. 3 - Moon druid. CR0 (mouse) for 1/4hr, CR1(bear) for 1/4 hr, CR1 for 1/4 hr.

e.g. 4 - Level 5 Moon druid. CR1 for 1/4hr, twice, CR0 for 3/4hr, CR1/2 for 1/2hr, CR1/4 for 1/4 hr.
e.g. 5 - Level 6 Moon druid. CR2 for 1hr twice.

I’m still debating weather or not to give the +1 hr to moon druids.

The main thing I’m trying to do is avoid the “wasted” wildshape feeling, I don’t want to hesitate to use this awesome feature to keep the resource for a potential later battle.

So what do you guys think? Will this break the game? I am testing this with my DM, but if it turns out to be too OP then we will dial it back. Or potential go back to standard.

EDITS

Well after going through with character creation and talking to the rest of the crew. I am still going to go with the Druid/Barbarian build but with some changes for flavor.

My character is now a one armed shifter, named Beck. Rather than the bear, I will now lean into the one-armed nature or the character and wild shape into primates/apes. I made a CR1 Gorilla (upgraded CR1/2 Ape) based off off the BlackBear -> Brown Bear upgrades. This is so that for a time at least he can feel "normal" and have two arms and hands.

I asked Chat GPT to expaned on:

Druid with rage issues, he tries to suppress his rage but it doesn't always work. He didn't really fit in with the others at the druid enclave that he grew up in.

A large part of the general anger at the world is that he is a Shifter and has lost his left arm, Shifters are generally looked down on and the fact that he is missing the lower part of his left arm leaves him feeling that others think he is broken is some ineffible way.

ChatGPT response:

Background Beck was born within the tranquil confines of a druidic enclave nestled deep in the heart of the ancient forest. Surrounded by the soothing whispers of nature, he grew up under the careful guidance of the enclave's wise druids. However, from an early age, it was clear that Beck was different. His Shifter heritage marked him as distinct from the others, and as he came of age, his physical loss only furthered his sense of isolation.

Personality Beck's heart is a tempest of conflicting emotions. He carries a deep connection to nature, feeling most at peace when he communes with the spirits of the forest and takes on the forms of animals. He tries to embody the teachings of the druids, seeking harmony and balance. Yet, beneath the surface, a simmering anger lies, triggered by the pervasive prejudices he's faced due to his Shifter heritage and his missing arm.

Rage and Transformation When his emotions reach a boiling point, Beck's attempt to suppress his rage can fail spectacularly. In those moments, his connection to his Shifter ancestry becomes undeniable, and he transforms into a raging force of nature. His remaining arm gains a primal strength, and his eyes blaze with fury. He becomes a whirlwind of ferocity, tearing through adversaries with the raw power of his emotions.

Journey and Quest Beck's path leads him beyond the safety of his druidic enclave. Driven by a yearning to prove his worth and overcome the limitations society has imposed on him, he embarks on a quest to uncover ancient secrets hidden within the depths of the world. Along the way, he forms unlikely bonds with fellow adventurers who see past his differences and appreciate the strength within him.

ChatGPT end

So the goal over the adventure is to have him realize that the limitations that he thinks society has placed on him are actually his projections. Once he accepts that his differences don't make him weaker or less in any way, he can be happy in his own skin. If he doesn't accept this; the wild shape could become an addiction and he will blame it on only having one arm.

Note He didn't lose the arm in some accident or anything, he was born with it the way it is. The druids in the enclave couldn't heal it as there was nothing to heal.

ORIG

I am starting a new game, for once I am going with a front line kinda build. Plan is to go from L1 - 15.

So I have chosen the Shifter - Wildhunt - specifically for the ability “no creature within 30 feet of you can make an attack roll with advantage against you”

L1,2 - Druid - Circle of the moon.
L3,4,5 - Barbarian - Path of the Totem Warrior
L6 - 15 continue with Druid (probably)

Pros and cons L1 - 5

Pro - Level 2 Bear with me here…I can be a bear that can not be ganged up on
Con - 1 round to wind up, shift and wildshape
Pro - Level 3 Barb gives me Unarmored defense, this is crazy good with wildshape
Pro - Level 4 my raging bear will be able to attack recklessly and never have the down sides.
Con - a long wind up to get to Shifted/Raging/Bear 1.5 rounds.
Pro - Level 5 - resistance to everything except psychic attacks…usually Wiz save - so my high wiz druid helps a lot there.

The cons are mostly negated if the party isn’t surprised. Unarmored defense makes this crazy…I have ~~high Wiz~~ reasonable Con ~~because of druid~~ and reasonable Dex…

Edit: too many times playing monk.

Also reading through, I need to get to at least L6 druid, gives CR2 beasts and primal strike.
