Fixed resistors

The TCR of foil resistors is extremely low, and has been further improved over the years. One range of ultra-precision foil resistors offers a TCR of 0.14 ppm/°C, tolerance ±0.005%, long-term stability (1 year) 25 ppm, (3 years) 50 ppm (further improved 5-fold by hermetic sealing), stability under load (2000 hours) 0.03%, thermal EMF 0.1 μV/°C, noise −42 dB, voltage coefficient 0.1 ppm/V, inductance 0.08 μH, capacitance 0.5 pF.

ContactKeys

PlayStore Review :
This app installed without my permission. There is barely any info about what this app is for. I have all my settings turned off so it asks my permission before downloading anything, and this app still manage to get installed without consent. This is a very shady thing to do. This and another 2 apps also from google (e.g. SafetyCore) that just installed without permission. If my settings mean nothing, this is very worrying. No heads up, nothing.

Best for user experience :User want material that is :

  • newly published, and
  • classified using a hierarchy of methods.

Lemmy has :

  • communities
  • post
  • comments and
  • votes

which constitutes such a hierarchy of classification and engagement tools.

.
Design Flaws + Solutions

Notwithstanding the following :
Despicable//illegal posts should absolutely be deleted. Same from likely comments. But aside from that ...

Features creating user disengagement and disinterest :

Arbitrary deletions :
Since not following communities rules results in posts being deleted. Since this includes active conversation inside such posts. Since such community rules are quite arbitrary and difficult to judge by moderators. ... There has to be a better way than deleting such posts in such circumstances.

Design proposal :

Post unlinking // relinking :
A better design would allow moderator's action (or even bad enough vote totals) to unlink an off-topic-post from a community without deleting it from the instance (site).

Multi-linking of posts :
Better yet, a single post could be simultaneously linked to many communities even across many instances while maintaining one single global space of conversations.

Automatic anti-duplication
Creating duplicates of a post should be prevented automatically ... what should be prevented is the creation of new post linking to the same web page (same URL) as an already existing post does ... unless maybe with special permissions or if made after a long enough elapsed time.

New design's benefits :
This should result in a better user experience by grouping all discussions from one topic inside a unique post ... not dividing into multiple concurrent discussions, almost simultaneously, inside different (( posts // communities // instances )) what is in fact a single topic.
This would also provide peace of mind against arbitrary deletions.

Benefits for moderators
This would also decrease some drama (user to moderator feuds) and simplify moderator's work.

The US is actually going to implement a nationwide abortion ban and the measures for how it's going to be handled are already in the works. This bill, which I link to here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-resolution/7/text , seems ok at first glance and only seems to want to implement nationwide healthcare centers for women. But when you actually look at what these Pro Women's Healthcare Centers are and mean to offer, it becomes really clear what's going on.

On the first page of the PDF or booklet that appear when you search for the healthcare centers it is clear that they are supported by pro-life organisations and hold extreme pro-life values. And when you read the (very short) booklet it states their values and services that are to be provided. Among them is a requirement for "Abortion Pill Reversal" and encouragement for "Sterilization Reversal". The last page clearly states their values, where among them it states that:

"Abortion is not women's healthcare, because of the damage it causes to women's physical and emotional health and the destruction of unborn life, many of whom are females. Abortion is usually something women turn to when they feel they do not have another choice. This is a tragedy and the opposite of choice and empowerment."

And it goes on to list similiar values. The bill to implement these healthcare centers states that:

"That the House of Representatives—

(1) expresses its support for women nationwide to have access to comprehensive, convenient, compassionate, life-affirming, high-quality health care; and

(2) recognizes the high standards established by Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers consortium as standards worth implementing nationwide."

This means that the values that these Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers have are to be set as standards nationwide.

Summary

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on Trump’s election interference case, released by the Justice Department, details Trump’s attempts to retain power after losing the election.

Trump responded with late-night social media posts, calling Smith “deranged,” spreading falsehoods about destroyed evidence, and claiming a 2020 election “landslide” victory.

Despite having time to prepare a response, Trump’s reaction consisted of late-night tweets filled with lies and falsehoods.

In a groundbreaking study, we challenge conventional wisdom and push the boundaries of human knowledge. Our research reveals that the number 8 is not a prime number, and that the subsequent integers 9 and 10 also fail to meet the criteria for primality. However, our most significant finding is the discovery that the number 13 is indeed a prime number. But the true breakthrough comes from our innovative experiment, in which we successfully broke a sample of frozen soil using a hammer, thereby achieving a truly groundbreaking result. This pioneering work opens up new avenues of research and has the potential to revolutionize our understanding of numbers and materials.

what they did :

"Our product takes in a full blow of air and separates it," said team member Leen Alfaoury. "Some of that air comes out as it is, and part of it comes out shifted. The combination of these two sections of the air makes the blower less noisy."

Adds Chacon: "It ultimately dampens the sound as it leaves, but it keeps all that force, which is the beauty of it."

Their design cuts the most shrill and annoying frequencies by about 12 decibels, which all but removes them, making them 94% quieter.
