Just looking at this post as an example, on lemmy.world show it has 29 comments, but when i open it, there are now only 3 or 4. I replied to one comment, the user i replied to got banned, and the whole comment tree is gone from lemmy.world. Other instances still show all comments, including those from the banned user and my reply. I think it’s very confusing when a single post appears with different comments on different instances, and have no idea how this works.

Edit: why am i forced to upload a photo for a new post?

The only thing that can make Trump look good is his obituary

Not convinced by this story. The guy allegedly worked in security on the base, so probably does not know anything about maintenance needed to keep the warheads operational. I also doubt western security services would let this guy speak to the BBC.

An election in four years … I like your optimism and I hope you are right.

If true, they deserve a consumer boycott. But it’s almost impossible to stop buying Unilever products, the list is endless. List of brands

Unit pricing helps. A French supermarket also puts shrinkflation warning stickers on shelves where packaging size changed but price has not, that too should be mandatory

WTF is a wifi company? Next up: how a cat5 company can protect your privacy??

There is no ‘good’ way of monitoring these platforms without a massive intrusion of privacy. Just like there is no good way of monitoring what people store on their hard disks, memory sticks, or burn onto dvd/cd and send through the mail.

When sorting by hot, I get posts with 1 upvote and no comments near the top. And it is above a post from the same community (nieuws) that has 2 upvotes. Seems to be broken.

While there are some bubbles that need popping, especially in board rooms - i work for a large tech company that has not fired anyone because of AI. Rather the opposite, we have been expanding our AI team in the last 5+ years and have delivered succesful AI products. There is a lot more to AI than ChatGPT. Which, while impressive as a proof of concept, is not actually useful to business.

Poor spez. If it wasn’t for bad luck, he’d have no luck at all.

We did not kill 72% of the Germans, or even 72% of the Nazis in WW2. I do not support Hamas, but I don’t support genocide either.

It is not the only railway connection. And there is still the original route from before this tunnel was built. So not sure how big the impact is.

My first anduril light, and first small light. Really happy with it. Thanks to you wonderful people, and the ones we left behind on Reddit, I ditched the cheap supermarket zoomies and got my first decent light from Zak’s list, a wowtac a2s. Good recommendation, great light but angled lights aren’t my favourite. Next one was an fc11. Also from zak’s list and another solid recommendation. Love it, just wish it had better runtime and lower moonlight. I use it mainly for dog walking in woods and fields, and it is good for that purpose. This TS10 fixes my moonlight issue for indoor use and is easily bright enough on full to be my backup if the FC11 ever fails me while out.
