Funnily enough, I had a burger with pineapple on it when I was in Australia. It was great, I really liked the juiciness and taste the pineapple brought to the burger.

Granted, it was at an Oporto (which is kinda like upscale McDonald's with a Portuguese theme to it for the uninitiated), but it was pretty good nonetheless; I'd have it again.

First of all, sorry if this really isn't the right spot for this but I figured that maybe some Aussies in here recognise it.

I've had this stuffed frilled-neck lizard since roughly 2006 when a family member brought it back from Australia for me, I know for sure that my brother had a stuffed dinosaur with a similar design on it. According to the tag it was hand made in Australia by "Kurrajong Aboriginal Products". A quick search brought me to a company with the same name that sells child education books and hand made dolls, so the connection is kinda there but I can't be sure; they don't sell stuffed animals (anymore). I'd really like to know if anyone has seen these or even has one.

Here's some pictures I took of it.

When I was in Australia myself a while ago I searched for similar things but couldn't find anything. Even the museum shops I went to only seemed to sell generic Chinese-made stuff, which really is a shame but anyway...

Pocket was always among the first things I disabled when setting up Firefox and apparently, I wasn't the only one doing that.... I'm sure it had its users but I always found normal bookmarks to be more convenient.

Never even heard of Fakespot, though.

I just came back from a 6 week trip to Australia; spending time with my relatives (some of whom I've never met before or haven't seen in 20 years) and I had a really really really great time. Everyone was so welcoming and just appreciative; I was really overwhelmed by how amazing the whole experience was.

On my flight back I was crying the whole time; I never felt like that before and just couldn't handle my emotions (much to the dismay of the people sitting next to me). Most of all I just didn't wanna return to my dysfunctional family in Germany. It's been my goal to move to Australia for some time now but after this experience I'm determined to move as soon as possible. It's gonna take a lot of figuring stuff out and it won't be easy but I'll make it work.

Just wanted to get that out there I guess.

Edit: if someone happens to have a few tips and pointers for me regarding my plans they would be greatly appreciated

Reminder to watch Minority Report again... I don't even remember whether that movie was any good or not

Interesting they would recommend that, I mean it's pretty cool of them but they sell antivirus software that AFAIK is only available for Windows.

Almost like they care more about giving good advice than making money... Impossible.

Who green lit this? I really hope that person gets fired immediately.

The lack of any visual link to ASUS isn't even the biggest problem for me; it's that ASUS rolls out a program that (presumably) puts itself in autostart by default and just pops up without prompt at all.

Edit: There's a fucking setting in the BIOS to auto-install ASUS' bullshit software? And it's enabled by default.... jesus fucking christ

Ah, there it is. The death subscription.

In two years time Apple, and every other smartphone manufacturer on the EU market for that matter, will be forced to make the battery user replaceable and that one will most likely benefit everyone; unless Apple wants to release two versions of every iPhone to comply with EU regulations which they won't.

Ignoring the obvious things here; how would Biden re-entering nominations count as "stealing back the nomination". I thought Kamala supposedly stole it from him? Did both of them steal it from Trump?

Wasn’t that whole the concept behind that reddit gold exclusive subreddit? I’ve never been on there but I heard it was pretty barren anyway.

Some time ago, I pulled this sticker off our old fridge before we got rid of it and put it onto my PC's side panel (don't ask me why, I guess I thought it looked cool). I don't exactly know where it came from or who put it there, although I suspect it was put there by a Australian relative that was visiting us a long time ago (the Murrumbidgee is a river in NSW, Australia).

Does anyone know the artist or name of this if it even has one? There's no obvious signature that I can see.

Feel free to remove if this isn't allowed.

Edit: I've since found out that this comic strip was actually made by the relative who put it on our fridge. It depicts something that had happened to them; I won't go into it further cause they don't know that I've even posted this here but yeah

I just wanna get to know people and maybe make a few friends. I've tried a bunch of servers over the years, both general and specific ones but it never really worked out I guess? (I'm a pretty awkward person to talk to, maybe that's why^^)

Their best album IMO

They should really stop over saturating the market by releasing new models every year with little to no meaningful upgrades.

Even mid-range phones nowadays are good enough to last long after they stop receiving updates, it therefore makes little financial sense (for the average consumer) to buy the newest model every year, not even touching on the environmental impact.

Eh. I mean, are there any great innovations left when it comes to smartphones? They kinda all just look and do the same nowadays.

They sure made USB3 look like a breakthrough innovation, though...
