Oh, its a change.org.

I'll sign it, but it feels slightly useless.

The Internet Archive does more than just the Wayback Machine.
They have a project called Great78, to archive every 78 RPM record, since they are deteriorating. The lawsuits from the music firms are taking issue with that, depsite no-one using it as a replacement for buying or streaming music. The "Damages" are bullshit.
Funding the lawsuit, and potentially losing it does threaten the Wayback Machine, and the archive as a whole.

Thats only in some countries iirc.

Well, there is a lot more to protest now with Trump.

It is annoying for people to dismiss any critisism against the democrats. Some people think they are a perfect, flawless party.

[-] Irelephant@lemm.ee 2 points 7 hours ago

Oh. I thought they did.

They are defederated from dbzer0.

Libertarians and crypto bros are both fans of the government and regulation when it helps them.

While the democrats should have supported palestine, voting blue would have led to a favourable outcome anyway.
Not voting doesn't help palestine whatsover. I get the arguments against lesser evil stuff, but its a bit easier to fix a broken system when the system isn't dissappearing people.

You're right on most of that, but the few conservatives flood the news and politcs communities there.

Avoiding a few other ones, the instance is fine.

Lemmy's default sort is "Active", which means that the most active threads will stay at the top of the frontpage, which can make the same few threads stay for ages. It does give the impression that lemmy is more active though.

A individual user airing their personal biases and manipulating lemmy isn't good for the community, regardless of how you feel about their target. This is a really bad thing (tm)

Every time I go to the piefed frontpage I'm blown away by how much more polished it is. It has all the bells and whistles that lemmy is sometimes missing.

Whats the catch? Why aren't we recommending everyone goes to piefed instead of lemmy?

App support is one thing I can think of.
