1.5 mm diameter, 300 lbs tensile strength, can be used as a friction saw. Pull on the aglet to easily unravel.

I've made a Paracord version of this, but kevlar is thinner and stronger.

This ring is meant to be used for counting while knitting, but I wear it to keep track of prayers. It's useless in the dark though, so I painted it with resin mixed with Lit glow powder. It's supposed to glow even if charged with heat, so we'll see if body heat does the job.

Not my finest work, but it'll do.

I confronted someone for littering and with a completely sincere face they said they're creating jobs for the people cleaning the streets ๐Ÿ’ซ so does that mean murderers are creating jobs for homicide detectives?

SAK Tape Dispenser (lemmy.world)
submitted 11 months ago by Jilanico@lemmy.world to c/edc@sopuli.xyz

Using the bit driver as a tape dispenser for painter's tape (blue) and gorilla tape (black).

I trimmed a plastic straw down to size and also slit it lengthwise and placed it over the bit driver. Then I wrapped it with two kinds of tape. The straw allows it to freely rotate as I pull the tape off.

Inspired by this video (skip to 22:00) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=L65HqVkWYxo

The gorilla tape is thick so I can't get a lot on there. I may replace it with cellulose tape or just more painter's tape. I might also slide another straw over the tape to protect it.

DIY Kevlar Bracelet (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Jilanico@lemmy.world to c/edc@sopuli.xyz
  • 5 feet of kevlar line that can be unraveled near instantly.
  • Easily and quickly made back into a bracelet after use.
  • Stop bullets with bracelet like Wonder Woman. Just kidding.

Kevlar line is tough enough to be used as a friction saw. It can cut through a tree! It can also carry a stupid amount of weight for such a thin diameter. I used a 1.6 mm diameter line with 400 lbs strength.

I decided to keep this bracelet to 5 ft for jobs that don't require lots of cordage, but you can make it any length.

Here's a past post of some Paracord versions I've made with links on how to make them.

Note: Kevlar can't be melted, so knotting the ends is required to prevent fraying.

Plot twist: these are 6 legged bed bugs. The survivor was right, but now it has to live with the fact that its last words to its buddy were, "You're stupid."

The metaverse already exists, imo. It just isn't called that and doesn't belong to zuck. It's all the multi-user VR experiences that exist today.

I wear hayanwa "fast rope" bracelets every day, so I made them in different colors to coordinate with my outfits. These bracelets allow 6 yards of 95 Paracord to be quickly and easily deployed with a simple tug.

I was inspired by a video by MeZillch, but with some tweaks I came up with, most notably being a pre-tied handcuff loop for hojojutsu and an aglet to help thread the stopper knot.

ETA: This video shows how to fit 6 yards of cordage in the bracelet.

Gravitational force is never truly zero. If it has mass, it is pulling at you, though it may be so close to zero that you don't realize it.
