That's just from the ruins of Old New York that New York is built on top of. The mutants down there are a steampunk society.

Let's pretend that society is collapsing and then, when they're all locked in their bunkers, we cement them in and go about fixing the world.

At least games make sense, as the graphics get better. Though in some cases, the compression is also better. Like PS5 games are smaller on average than their PS4 versions, even though they have higher resolution textures in most cases, just because the PS5 has better compression/decompression tech.

Now you need to try bottoming to see if you don't like that. Maybe what you hate is being the top πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Yeah that sounds like a you problem. Most people use it to just mean "ok." But I mean, if you said "mom just died 😭" and you get "πŸ‘" as a reply, that one's probably rude.

I sold cutco knives for a month.

If you're looking for a job, stay the fuck away from anything dealing with "CutCo" or "Vector Marketing."

Edit: Its not really a pyramid scheme... They just do everything they can to weasel out of giving you your paycheck on payday and because it's sales commission, I don't think they have to follow minimum wage laws since you're not paid hourly.

Unless they've seriously changed how it fundamentally works (this was when I was 18). They never encouraged or paid extra for getting others to sell for you, like a typical MLM thing.

Even outside of their space, when they "argue" it had generally been posting giant, random images that had little to no context followed by walls of emojis. Which is why my blocklist is mostly Hexbear users.

I was generous and built them a barn so they could sleep indoors but I noticed most of them never go through doors (probably cuz they're too big or I need stairs at the foundation) and just sleep outside on the ground. They're not gonna get pissed after a while are they?

Lemme see your transcripts, Doc. I ain't trusting my life to anything less than an A+, honor roll student.

I was talking about bg3 and how a certain part could be changed to be much darker, and it occurred to me that it possibly could affect the rating of the game if they did (being vague purposely to avoid spoilers). But then I wondered "do things like that even have to be reviewed by the rating boards?" Because Larian has made a lot of changes like that to the game and I imagine it would be pretty ludicrous to have each and every one be reviewed to see if it fits within the current ESRB and PEGI ratings of the game.

With how old school this game does some shit, and how I've been dicking about I am slightly worried I will hit a hidden time limit, like in Fallout 1 before I even attempt to dive into the main quest. I'm not just gonna turn squidy all of sudden and end my game if I take too long, am I?

So before I end my turn, I always start jamming on my lute, standing over the body of the bugbear I just slaughtered.

I have just a single physical copy of a game, and I've just been leaving the disc in the console; but after seeing a few videos about older consoles and noticing the console slows down while the disc is being read I'm curious if there is danger to the disc, or the console or even if I could get a bit of a performance gain by removing it when not playing that specific game.

Guys like Aaron will always be forced out by guys like Steve because guys like Aaron don't want to be assholes, which is a necessity guys like Steve have no issue with.

Can't log in? (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by PillowTalk420@lemmy.world to c/liftoff@lemmy.world

IDK why but the app isn't logging me in today. I also seem to be having issues logging into some instances through the website, but I'm not getting any errors or anything. It just goes like it's working but then when the page reloads, I'm not logged in. Took me like 15 tries just to get to the create post button.

The weird thing is I can still access my profile, I just can't view my subscriptions or make posts because I'm not logged in. Usually if I'm not logged in, I can't see my profile either. 🀨

Don't know if the issue is the app or the service itself.

You don't clean your belts? 🀒

You don't need to throw it in the washing machine to clean it. That's not the only way to wash clothing, guys. At least hit that shit with a spray on sanitizer like Lysol or something once in a while.

Imagine hyperfixating on music, making an album, getting a record deal, and then right before you go on tour the first time: "Alright I'm bored now. Now I wanna be a race car driver! Vroom vroom!"

How am I supposed to earn them if I don't even know what they expect me to do for them? Why do these exist? I haven't even encountered a game (not even a Fromsoft game, and those guys are notorious for being vague and not forthcoming with info even for guide books) where the hidden achievements were not already listed by a 3rd party somewhere outside of the game day 1, so why not just show them in the damn game?

I just noticed that even though I was looking at and logged in through my Lemmy.World account, I would sometimes be posting/commenting as another account on another instance. All these posts will say "via " next to the original location of the post.

It doesn't make much sense to me that it will use an account for a separate instance when I already have one signed in for the origin post, but idk if this is maybe a stability thing to just keep things running smoothly? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Give it 15 years.

I've been online since 1990; 10-15 years seems to be the maximum time a community can live without shitting itself over greed or something new and better coming along to scoop up users.

That said, things like Usenet and IRC still technically exist... They're just niche now. The way this shit works is more like those, so it will likely never fully disappear.
