I've been reading T. Kingfisher lately and in absolutely in love. I picked up The Hollow Places thinking it would probably be a waste but it's become my favorite book. I've just started What Moves the Dead, and in already hooked, her descriptive ability is immaculate.

I would also recommend The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Sterling, Hide by Kiersten White, and Bunny by Mona Awad.

Who knew it would be easier to conquer America than it would be to conquer Ukraine...

Oh fuck i have a long history of this...

My parents got me a cheap set of tools, pliers, screw drivers, level and a wood burner with no wood to burn at 10. My brother got a gameboy SP and Pokémon.

Two years later I got an electric shaver and Cologne. I didn't start growing facial hair until 17 and didn't have enough to need more than one pass with a razor until 26. Still have the Cologne, it's not awful but it's also not a smell that works for me.

14 I got a store made cake and $20. I can't eat the cake, the frosting makes my face hurt and that's been a problem since I was 5 so they know I can't eat the cake.

Basically, I didn't get a present for me until I met my wife at 30.

I've been playing with the terralyst lately and found out that a mediocre velocitus as a call down and on a necromech will take huge chunks off it's health. The necromech is even better because it isn't bothered by all the knock back and stagger.

As I don't have any of the meta frames for eidolon hunts, this has been a bit of a game changer for me and has me wondering how this would stack up with meta options. I've got a Lanka and it's nowhere near as effective even at double the fire rate.

Has anyone else played with this? I'd love to hear other stories on how the new deployables work with hunts.

Like, could you make a smaller version of a 1911 that fires 22lr instead of .45 by just scaling all the parts to the 22lr?

I have some old digital photos that I'd like to bring into modern resolutions, I know ai won't really be the same as doing it by hand but I doubt my grandma will notice. Is there a reliable site or way to use stable diffusion for this?

Throughout the Solo movie, Han tries to thread the needle multiple times and fails. In the end of the movie he finally succeeds but only after plugging Lando's robo girlfriend's brain into the Falcon. After that point they never suggest that they remove her from it. They never need an astromech to calculate jumps again and almost every single person that pilots the Falcon threads the needle at least once, including ray who has literally never flown before when she does it.

Han isn't the pilot. He's the captain of a ghost ship. Every mistake he's made since then has been expertly corrected by the ship itself, now given a mind and one of the longest running navigation databases in the galaxy.

Where I live it's strictly one cop per car unless they're training. That's why they pull people over in packs.

In the aughts, pirates bay felt like the library of Congress. If a single commenter on a B tier forum saw it in a guy's basement in the mid 80's there was a sure bet at least 3 people were seeding it and one of them had great upload. If it wasn't there, you had a dozen different sites with their own dedicated fans posting everything you could ever want.

Now it's maybe 6 sites, they all have the exact same listings, and the only things with seeds came out in the last year of two. It's like seeing your local library after a fire.

How do you run out of ballots? Why don't they ship enough for every single legal voter?

I'm currently working at a school with a trans kid. She's an absolute delight and if I hear anyone in the district dead name her, there will be hell to pay. I'm so glad schools are getting rid if jackasses like this guy.

I think Weird Al Yankovic would be the perfect opponent. The absurdity of a political debate where Trump spouts absolute nonsense in a perfectly serious manor while Al lays serious facts in the most nonsensical form would be the show of the century and weird Al has better qualifications for the job by trumps standards having maintained cultural relevancy and financial stability for 4 decades. Plus he's jest super likeable.

So we have a few of these things and I honestly fell like they're critically under utilized for what they are. You can see the mini figure display space, the stand and folding wings come out leaving a sizable storage area, and the lid also opens to enough storage for all the parts in each set. The top of the lid is an ordinary 8x8 flat round corner.

Obviously, these would be great travel cases for Lego D&D Minifigs, with your fig, main equipment, and what not with the back space used for other equipment or cosmetics. That said, I really want to find a game that uses the building aspect of Lego and can be stored in these containers.

The best I've come up with would be some variation of Goh that uses smooth tiles? Maybe some sort of chess game? Any ideas would be appreciated, I've been wracking my brain on this for weeks

So our neighbors have been a growing problem for a few months now. They seem to be a flop house for six or seven people, most of them look high all day. They go out and Rev a Harley at 3am, they burn plastic been our houses in a fire pit, they have a new dog every two weeks because they keep getting out and getting hit by traffic in the busy street we live on, the current two have bit people. I'm not one to care how someone lives, but these folks make the rest of our slum neighborhood look downright utopian.

I've tried taking to them, they're stupidly hostile. I've put in complaints with the city, noise complaints with the police, they don't do anything about it. Does anyone have advice on dealing with this? I'm tired, at my wits end, and my small town tactics aren't as easy to pull off in a proper city.
