A saving throw—also called a save—represents an attempt to avoid or resist a threat. You normally make a saving throw only when a rule requires you to do so, but you can decide to fail the save without rolling. The result of a save is detailed in the effect that allowed it. If a target is forced to make a save and lacks the ability score used by it, the target automatically fails.

Bolded section is what I am concerned with. Does this mean that if I am a Barbarian with Strength/Constitution saving throw proficiency, that I automatically fail when needing to perform a Dexterity saving throw (because I do not have the ability score used by it)? Example here would be the Fireball spell cast by an enemy.

Or my favorite quote from the article

"I am going to have a complete and total mental breakdown. I am going to be institutionalized. They are going to put me in a padded room and I am going to write... code on the walls with my own feces," it said.

I was just asking a friend this last Friday. The party is led by out of touch boomers, backed by moneyed interests, and refuses to change. They'd rather not rock the boat or be the cause of a division in our society. Yet here we are, more divided than ever and growing by the day.

At least it wasn't by their hands?

Helene was only a category 4 and did this amount of damage. It's insane.

Add in re-hiring those same employees at a lower rate or off-shoring to India to get 3x the head count for the same wage and that's basically what's going on.

If your LAN is already compromised with a rogue DHCP server, you've got bigger problems than them intercepting just VPN traffic. They can man in the middle all of your non-encrypted traffic. While this is bad, it's not a scenario most people will run into.

Well good on Margot for taking some time off to focus on other things. Still being in the industry but avoiding the spotlight sounds like a good way to remain grounded.

I know this isn't politics or nation state news, but it is deeply troubling for all of us who live on planet Earth. Six standard deviations is mind boggling.

Mods, please remove this if you feel it isn't news worthy. I know it breaks rule 1, but wanted to share.

We absolutely should be ending subsidies on fossil fuels, the meat industry, and other polluters. This will cause a ripple effect on the cost of everyday items and the standard of living globally, so of course there will be those that say it can't be done. The problem is the game of musical chairs will eventually end, either when we're completely fucked or at a time of our choosing.

No one should be above the law. Especially public officials such as the President. We should not set precedent to allow someone to get away with what he has done.

I would say the same about Clinton, Obama, or Biden, had they done the same. This is not about party politics or team sports.

It's a tech company that is burning itself to a ground. Hard to take your eyes off of a slow moving car crash.
