These days twitter is where it's at for keeping up with everything that's censored everywhere else. There's nowhere better for Palestine updates. I hear tiktok is good too but I'm no longer a teenager.

I thought they'd go with the Chinese this time.

I keep hearing about this meme from normie boomer media, but I've never actually seen it in the wild. I'm starting to think it was a failed astroturfed fellow kids meme.

All Catholics (and many Protestant Rovalists) above the rank of tradesman or labourer were to remove themselves and their families into Connacht and Clare, where they were assigned small allotments. Any of those ordered away found east of the Shannon after May 1st, 1654, might be killed by whoever met them. The move had to be made mostly in winter. The season was very severe, and the roads almost impassable. Thousands perished on the way.

372 years ago, on this day in 1652, the Act for the Settlement of Ireland was passed by the English Parliament, preceding the greatest exercise in ethnic cleansing in early modern Europe.

It is perhaps not a coincidence that four governments in the region that had begun to collaborate with the BRI have fallen, and that their replacements in three of them are eager for better ties with the United States. This includes Shehbaz Sharif, who came to power in Pakistan in April 2022 with the ouster of Imran Khan (now in prison), Ranil Wickremesinghe, who briefly came to power in Sri Lanka in July 2022 after setting aside a mass uprising that had other ideas than the installation of a party with only one member in parliament (Wickremesinghe himself), and KP Sharma Oli, who came to power in July 2024 in Nepal after a parliamentary shuffle that removed the Maoists from power.

At this point I suspect the USA automatically for anything bad that is happening in the world today.

Inspired by this.

I've been trying to remember a song for months now. It had a really well made animated video, probably sort of in the style of Cuphead. I seem to recall a cartoon wolf in it. The theme of the song was about this unspecified thing that was "gonna to make you go boom!" and stuff like that.

The video was the really memorable part, the song itself not so much, which makes it all the harder to google for. I think it was French.

"It's gonna make you... do x y z"... sorry I don't have much more.

I've been using Mint for years now and I'm blissfully unaware of whatever drama is going on, or went on. It's an OS people, not a vanguard of political or philosophical ideology.

Just warming up the public for it now at this point. Zaluzhnyi is very popular, more so than Zelensky.

Hamas not killing more than 50 people with rockets in the last 20 years but had this hospital flattening rocket all along which they only decided to use tonight, it then blew up a hospital that just happened to be the one the Israelis told to evacuate before they bombed it. Yeah?

Some speculation on the USA's intentions with its overly large force deployed to the ME.

tl;dr It's too big to be just for Hamas. Lebanon is too difficult, Hezbollah would demolish Israel. Iran too awkward...

But with Israeli bombing attacks on the airports of Aleppo and Damascus and its pre-war like warnings to its settlers, there seems to be good indications that Syria is again the target.

The neo-conservative lunatics in the White House may well think that they now have a chance to eliminate Russia's presence in the Middle East.

They will think of this as a revenge for their loss of the the war in Ukraine. They also believe that it will prevent, or compensate for, their geopolitical defeat in Gaza.

When I click show context on a reply, I’d like to see the comment that they replied to, so I can remember what the fuck I was saying, but nothing happens, the page just refreshes. Is this a new bug? Maybe related to OP’s?
