I'd recommend you test Bazzite, Nobara and Solus and see which one you like best.

As far as I know screen resolution issues usually comes down to outdated drivers and/or kernel, at least for newer hardware. Using a distro that's very up-to-date usually solves that, any of the 3 ones I cited above are regularly up-to-date.

I'll briefly explain the differences between them.

Bazzite:"Atomic" distro. Basically means it updates like Android, where it downloads an image of the system and uses that to update, instead of updating every single package individually when you try to update. It also means some parts of the system are read-only, making it impossible to mess with the more critical parts of the system, which helps a lot to mitigate user breakage and issues.

It is Fedora based, comes with KDE Plasma and a lot of of useful gaming stuff pre-installed. Just use the software center to install anything you need. It has a forum and Discord server if you ever need help with something. Also, it auto-updates on the background by default and only applies the update once you restart you computer.

I use it daily since the last 3 months at least and has been the smoothest, most plug and play experience I ever had on Linux. It is also the only one of the 3 that I recommended that supports Secure Boot and easy TPM2 setup, both which I need because of an external drive with Win11 I barely use and because I encrypt my system.

Nobara:It's not Atomic, so it updates "normally" and doesn't have the read-only protections.

It is Fedora based and comes with KDE Plasma by default, but have options to use other Desktop Environments. There's a Discord server to ask for help if needed.

I used it for a year before I moved to Bazzite and it's pretty good. The only 2 caveats is that on major upgrades you need to upgrade through the terminal following specific instructions, and I had to manually intervene in the system a few times, which I only knew about because I was in GE's Discord, otherwise it would be a pain to find how to fix the issues I had.

Solus:It's not Atomic, so it updates "normally" and doesn't have the read-only protections.

It's not based on any other distro, it is it's own thing. Comes by default with Budgie but there's also a KDE Plasma option. There's a forum to ask for help if needed.

Used it for at least 4 or 5 years I think. Was the first Linux distro to actually get my attention and one of the best computer experiences I've ever had. I only ended abandoning it because of some issues with the team behind it that resulted in months of downtime without a single update, to the point I thought the distro was dead. It ended up coming back after some restructuring, but I never tried it again. I still recommend it because of how good it was, I found nearly everything I needed natively on their app store. The biggest problem other than the one I already talked about was outdated apps here and there.

You should do it. I had to stop using it after the ban here in Brasil and it has been a blessing. Been using BlueSky ever since and I'm yet to see a single Nazi or Nazi content. I had to manually block like 5 people only.

I get what you're saying and I would definitely agree in the case of Fedora Silverblue/Kinoite. I specifically said Bazzite because it is specifically made to be as hassle free as possible while also providing a lot out of the box.

If someone needs help there's a dedicated forum for that, documentation and also a Discord server. It can be more complex in some areas for troubleshooting, but it is also big enough to the point where you can get help if needed.

Bazzite has been the smoothest experience I ever had on Linux since I started using it in 2018 when Proton launched. I even use it on my main computer and laptop.

If I had to recommend a non atomic distro the only ones would be Solus and Nobara, but on Nobara you need to keep an eye on their Discord because of manual interventions every now and then.

Just use Bazzite, works out of the box, basically doesn't break, is very up-to-date, comes with KDE which is similar enough to Windows but can do so much more and install anything you need from the app store. It also has the ability to install from other ways and the documentation for it is decent enough on their forums.

Elongated Muskrat strikes again lmao. I didn't know we were the 3rd largest group of Twitter users tho, I always thought we Brazilians were a lot smaller on there because Twitter is one of the least used platforms here.

It's cool seeing a lot of Brazilians, specially artists, migrating to Bluesky, at least there are good tools to deal with bullshit and bigotry there, I have yet to see something awful on that site.

Yeah yeah, continue to spout your anti-communist propaganda. You already live in a dictatorship, you're just to propagandized to realize it.

The only dictatorship we want is that of the proletariat, as opposed to the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. That is, a true popular democracy.

Maybe listen to what other people have to say and go read communist theory before saying anything you don't know about.

As it stands your position is not left in any stretch of the imagination.

LMAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Kkkrakkkrers really are a bunch of snowflakes eh.

And the best thing is you discriminating someone for being poor, body shaming and victim blaming, all while also mentioning and somewhat defending 4chan out of nowhere.

You're the classic lib that don't understand 10% of what you talk about, but is so sure of yourself that you feel the need to show how superior (stupid) you really are.

Oh it's 100% the brain worms they got from all the propaganda.

You can clearly see this when some post on r/gaming or r/pcmasterrace involves China and/or Tencent in any way. There's always blatant sinophobia, propaganda and racism mixed in there.

The weird thing is, that sentiment made it's way here in Brazil too. I don't really remember much since it was 10+ years ago, but I do recall anti-Baidu stuff on the internet, mostly calling it a computer virus and such and even about Tencent much more recently, although not a lot of stuff.

I also have seen gringos making some valid criticism about predatory monetization by Tencent, but it is usually followed with "China bad".

I was gonna post about this shit either here or on lemmygrad's c/games, so I'm glad someone already did, and holy fuck this game is just a nazi dog whistle, and every gaming journalist outlet is reporting on it without mentioning any of this shit.

Searching around, this is all I found: it's about "exterminating rats with gas", has 88 in the title, the title is 14 keystrokes long, the word Infestation have a Scrabble score of 14 (this one might be a huge reach, but it would make the title be a code for 14 88), there's a sign in the trailer that shows the letters "TG-44 SST", there is a German assault rifle the nazis used in WW2 called STG-44 which is only a single letter of difference, the team claims to be in the industry making horror games since 2010, specifically 14 years of experience, while also not having launched any other games.

I doubt it's gonna make a difference but I reported this nazi propaganda crap on Steam. What a fucking way to start 2024 eh.

Edit: also saw some screenshots on twitter of some proud neonazis on their discord server.

Edit 2: the devs got caught and are now backtracking, I don't buy their excuses, specially when they didn't straight up denounce the nazis on their discord, just said it is against the hate speech rule.

Edit 3: There are actual nazis on the steam forum of this game, even called me a brazilian brown rat (I'm not even brown, but to these people there's no difference whatsover), here's the link: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2635640/discussions/0/4036979713109744030/

Edit 4: Thread got nuked, here's a link to imgur with screenshots of the whole thread: https://imgur.com/a/iKNv9RV

Lula isn't doing that great in his 3rd presidency. We are seeing the privatization of prisons, a zero déficit policy and a continuation of a cap on government spending that is fucked up and that he promised to get rid of, but didn't. There's talks of his party, PT, allying with PL (Bolsonaro's party) on some stuff, tho I haven't looked into it to much. And there's a real possibility of the military police becoming basically untouchable and having more power and autonomy than they did during the military dictatorship.

There's other stuff happening that is not related to him, but that is extremely important, like the recent illegal privatization of water in the state of São Paulo by it's facist governor that ended in comrades that were peacefully protesting being beaten and arrested.

Of course there is good too like the economic growth and the recent abolishment (don't know if it is the right word to use) of debt for the people that were housed by the government, but we are seeing the limits of social democracy right now.

This shit is both depressing and enraging. If only the Lula that spoke in the UN was the same Lula that is governing this country.

Don't put too much faith into social democracies just because it's on the global south, comrades.

Oh just fuck off you transphobic, ableist piece of shit.

You come here saying the most ignorant, insensitive crap and then try to demand people to answer you?

And stop with the LGB bullshit. Will it take you imbeciles having your skulls literally crushed by fascists to realize that siding with this alt-right rethoric is the wrong fucking thing to do?
