What a way to call yourself a fascist uh

You could start with communist content on YouTube. That tends to be more easily digestible and eases you into reading theory later on.

I can recommend channels like Second Thought, Yugopnik, Hakim, revolutionaryth0t and Ian Neves/História Pública (you'll need to use subtitles for this one if you don't speak portuguese).

I recently watched both and really liked it.

A friend have been recommending me to watch Solo Leveling for a while now, and despite my fears of it just being another generic ass story and protagonist, I actually enjoyed it.

The only 2 complaints I can think of right now are that the other characters aren't really that interesting outside the protagonist, so I kinda don't care about them very much, and I think not having any commentary on the very predatory capitalism showed in the story is a bit of a let down, like, the protagonist barely makes money, there's literal monopolization of portals and creation of guilds for profit seeking, yet there's 0 commentary on that, unless I missed something.

That being said, I like the protagonist, he's not an extremely evil or perfectly good guy, he's just a dude that got dragged along and have to make some though decisions here and there.

Spoiler for the end of the seasonAlso, at the end of the first season the dude becomes a necromancer, and I'm a sucker for necromancy, so I'm excited to see where it goes lol.
.

For Trigun, I watched the old anime a while ago, and I thought this new one would go a completely different route, but I was gladly surprised with how it turned out. I just finished watching it and I really liked it. I never read the manga so I don't know how close it is to the original story, but I was shocked with how different it was from the old adaptation. I remember a lot of people complaining about Vash's new design, but honestly the only issue I have with it is that it's a bit too simple lol, I wish his clothing was more complex/overdesigned.

Spoiler about the storyThe only real complain I have with the story is that it doesn't really tries to counter Knives' narrative.

Like, he's obviously right about how the plants are used and killed by humans, but he's a genocidal manipulative race supremacist that wants to create a paradise for his species with all means necessary, and the only thing to counter his narrative is Vash saying it doesn't need to be like that and that humans and plants can coexist, but never explaining how, never addressing the issue with how plants are used and discarded.

I really hope this gets tackled in the next season, because right now it makes it seems like Knives actions and way of thinking was justified.

It's also mentioned how humans basically destroyed Earth and had to send colonizing ships to another planet, but there's no deeper conversation or commentary about how that happened or why it might happen again in this new planet, the narrative is always pointed towards the whole human race being evil and being the issue, and not the current structures that make these things happen. Seems a bit shallow to me.

Yeah, AOT is VERY fascist.

There's a character that is a depiction of a Japanese war criminal iirc and he's one of the "good" guys, which is also the entirety of the military too. It also makes the viewer root for the military coup and the only answer for every big problem presented is literal genocide.

There's also zero leftist movements present in this world, like not even a protest asking for the basic stuff the people on the outer walls and on the underground don't have while the inner walls have everything.

And to top it off a lot of fans were openly spewing the same genocidal fascist rethoric the story promotes for years while using an Eren or Floch pfp. It's genuinely insane to me how this happened.

Elongated Muskrat strikes again lmao. I didn't know we were the 3rd largest group of Twitter users tho, I always thought we Brazilians were a lot smaller on there because Twitter is one of the least used platforms here.

It's cool seeing a lot of Brazilians, specially artists, migrating to Bluesky, at least there are good tools to deal with bullshit and bigotry there, I have yet to see something awful on that site.

Yeah yeah, continue to spout your anti-communist propaganda. You already live in a dictatorship, you're just to propagandized to realize it.

The only dictatorship we want is that of the proletariat, as opposed to the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. That is, a true popular democracy.

Maybe listen to what other people have to say and go read communist theory before saying anything you don't know about.

As it stands your position is not left in any stretch of the imagination.

LMAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Kkkrakkkrers really are a bunch of snowflakes eh.

And the best thing is you discriminating someone for being poor, body shaming and victim blaming, all while also mentioning and somewhat defending 4chan out of nowhere.

You're the classic lib that don't understand 10% of what you talk about, but is so sure of yourself that you feel the need to show how superior (stupid) you really are.

[-] KrasMazov@lemmygrad.ml 36 points 10 months ago

Oh it's 100% the brain worms they got from all the propaganda.

You can clearly see this when some post on r/gaming or r/pcmasterrace involves China and/or Tencent in any way. There's always blatant sinophobia, propaganda and racism mixed in there.

The weird thing is, that sentiment made it's way here in Brazil too. I don't really remember much since it was 10+ years ago, but I do recall anti-Baidu stuff on the internet, mostly calling it a computer virus and such and even about Tencent much more recently, although not a lot of stuff.

I also have seen gringos making some valid criticism about predatory monetization by Tencent, but it is usually followed with "China bad".

Funny how your response to claims of a war perpetuated by the US that took the life of millions is to call us "stans" and point that we are the ones with the wild takes uh.

Either engage in good faith and at least try to understand what is being talked about or get your liberal lemm.ee ass out of here.

You're almost there. The problem is not that power corrupts, by this logic there's nothing you can do and every country is doomed. The issue is not individual, but collective.

The problem is that the whole structure of the system is made for the interests of the wealthy that detain all the power and not for the hard working majority of people. Lobbying is the perfect example of that.

And it's not about good or bad, but simply colliding antagonic class interests where the class that holds the power always wins.

It's easy to get doomerish and think that people or power is the problem, that's precisely the position the ruling class wants you to take because it keeps then safe and keeps us under their capitalistic boots.

I invite you to read Marx. Once you understand the systemic root cause of the issues we see everyday, it's truly freeing. I suggest the Communist Manifesto since it is really short and can get you the general grasp, just be aware that it's language is very dated.

Here are other good entry points:

Why You Should be a Socialist in 2024 by Second Thought

Will Life be Better Under Socialism? by Hakim

How Capitalism sells poverty as modesty & why equality isn't a practical goal. by Yugopnik

I was gonna post about this shit either here or on lemmygrad's c/games, so I'm glad someone already did, and holy fuck this game is just a nazi dog whistle, and every gaming journalist outlet is reporting on it without mentioning any of this shit.

Searching around, this is all I found: it's about "exterminating rats with gas", has 88 in the title, the title is 14 keystrokes long, the word Infestation have a Scrabble score of 14 (this one might be a huge reach, but it would make the title be a code for 14 88), there's a sign in the trailer that shows the letters "TG-44 SST", there is a German assault rifle the nazis used in WW2 called STG-44 which is only a single letter of difference, the team claims to be in the industry making horror games since 2010, specifically 14 years of experience, while also not having launched any other games.

I doubt it's gonna make a difference but I reported this nazi propaganda crap on Steam. What a fucking way to start 2024 eh.

Edit: also saw some screenshots on twitter of some proud neonazis on their discord server.

Edit 2: the devs got caught and are now backtracking, I don't buy their excuses, specially when they didn't straight up denounce the nazis on their discord, just said it is against the hate speech rule.

Edit 3: There are actual nazis on the steam forum of this game, even called me a brazilian brown rat (I'm not even brown, but to these people there's no difference whatsover), here's the link: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2635640/discussions/0/4036979713109744030/

Edit 4: Thread got nuked, here's a link to imgur with screenshots of the whole thread: https://imgur.com/a/iKNv9RV

Lula isn't doing that great in his 3rd presidency. We are seeing the privatization of prisons, a zero déficit policy and a continuation of a cap on government spending that is fucked up and that he promised to get rid of, but didn't. There's talks of his party, PT, allying with PL (Bolsonaro's party) on some stuff, tho I haven't looked into it to much. And there's a real possibility of the military police becoming basically untouchable and having more power and autonomy than they did during the military dictatorship.

There's other stuff happening that is not related to him, but that is extremely important, like the recent illegal privatization of water in the state of São Paulo by it's facist governor that ended in comrades that were peacefully protesting being beaten and arrested.

Of course there is good too like the economic growth and the recent abolishment (don't know if it is the right word to use) of debt for the people that were housed by the government, but we are seeing the limits of social democracy right now.

This shit is both depressing and enraging. If only the Lula that spoke in the UN was the same Lula that is governing this country.

Don't put too much faith into social democracies just because it's on the global south, comrades.

Oh just fuck off you transphobic, ableist piece of shit.

You come here saying the most ignorant, insensitive crap and then try to demand people to answer you?

And stop with the LGB bullshit. Will it take you imbeciles having your skulls literally crushed by fascists to realize that siding with this alt-right rethoric is the wrong fucking thing to do?
