submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by Irelephant@lemm.ee to c/facepalm@lemmy.world

TranscriptA tweet by Ivanka Trump @ivankatrump saying "I cannot believe that Theodore is eight months old today! Happy birthday little teddy bear!" with an admittedly cute picture of a child smiling. It has a reply from @blacknmild saying "this isn't how birthdays work"

The entire family is dumb as rocks.
It'd be hilarious if daddy dumb dumb wasnt a cult leader with so much power.

Teddy may have turned 8mo in that meme, but you sir/madam turned 1yo today (on Lemmy). So happy cake day to you!

It surprises me how stupid people seem to get power easily.

Happy cake day btw.

Confidence will get you very far in many fields. Unfortunately, more intelligent people are aware there are things they do not know and rarely have the confidence levels comparable to that of a dimwit.

Maybe due to all of the accomplishments of the Cheeto king's administration life expectancy will be measured in months to hide the fact that our collective life expectancy has been drastically reduced. When you got studies coming out saying that the poorest European lives about as long as the richest American, well you know you got a problem.

I did not think that was real. But it really is...

Maybe this is like Tesla's odometers, but for birthdays?

My wife has a one month birthday every month as well.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

What the fuck is Theodore?

[-] Maalus@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Ted. People tend to have longer names that then get shortened for everyday use.

I think it's rather common around me to throw a tiny celebration each months on the first year. A treat and a small message to the family never hurts 🤷

Plus, 8 months is super round, it's a power of two and 2/3 of a year ☝️🤓

Lol, you got lots of down votes friend, but I too appreciate the number 8. It's nice and it's twice my favorite number.

Poor kid will never get an un-birthday though. 😭

Anyway, happy un-birthday to YOU! 🫵 AND You! 👉

Aww thanks friend! Might be my new favorite number after that whole point about laying it on its side.

Yeah, we didn't celebrate but we were very aware of each month passing in the first year of our children. Especially since it is a time where they develop very fast. A five month old baby is very different to a eight month old baby. The first year felt like reinventing the whole family routines every couple of weeks.

So, yeah. There are things to make fun of and ridicule about the Trumps, but beeing happy that a person you love and have a conection to is getting older and changing is not one of them for me. Regardless of who is doing it.

His name can only be read as Käidjaik, not Kendrick.
