This seems stupid all around.

So like, if we're going to talk about Alberta's economy as it pertains to fossil fuels, which I'm against... why are we letting an American company do that business here? A large part of the province is huge about fossil fuels, surely there has to be an Alberta-based company that'd be willing to do the mining over an American one, right? We'd be keeping more of the profits of the coal mine here in Alberta rather than shipping those profits over the border, like genuinely what the heck?

Also, we're sending this stuff overseas? Like I understand that's standard procedure, but the energy industry is such a risky market to keep investing in with the way the province does it. At any moment the customers for our fuel resources could decide to pull the plug by saying "hey, we're going with renewables now" leaving us in the dust with our economy in a downturn.

Why aren't we diversifying and divesting? It's literally so easy to move our workforce from an energy-focused one to one focused on manufacturing. Our workforce likes working with their hands and getting them dirty so to say, and as the bread and butter of this province, we should be supporting them to make the changes we need for the province to truly survive.
