Perfect for the kinda guy who trues his wheels every day

Even then it sucks. Tyres are pneumatic, they shift shapes a lot depending on bumps and centrifugal forces and such. This is usually a problem you can ignore entirely, except of course when you go for that 1 picometer tolerance.

This sits at exactly the point where it feels like it runs fine-ish most of the time but also just grinds away your seatstays

You got a pair of kwests on that thing?

A good chain tensioning mechanism is very critical to effective single speed or fixed gear riding. Horizontal dropouts don't fair well with extreme torque inputs without some form of axle controlling mechanism to hold things in the correct place.

Also as a fan of large volume tires, more fixie folks need to get into tracklocross frames. Trying to squeeze anything above ~32mm into track frames is usually counterproductive.

You mean like putting all your bodyweight into torquing your axle bolts down right?

data-laughing

Something like this if the frame doesn't have axle alignment screws built in. Mostly only needed on the drive side since that is where the majority of torque is applied. Bottle opener function is just a nice bonus.

Looks like when I put 32s on my road bike from before the tire clearance revolution. I had to deflate them all the way to get them between the rim brakes.

I'm so glad I built a fun gravel cruiser. 650x47 is such a nice ride.

I've got a gravel bike, too

About that fixie life*

*Applies only to flywheels, not to seatstays

Dang, that's some impressive submicron tire clearance
