Want to get their attention?

Sanction money flowing from Canada to Israel; have FINTRAC either freeze funds, if not outright freeze accounts, of people and organizations sending money abroad.

$250M is sent from Canadians to Israel yearly, more than anywhere else. That's...something...for a supposedly developed democracy

Too little, too late. But better than nothing, I guess.

I would like to think this is more than performative, but given the history of inaction I won't be holding my breath as a wait to see something more than threats and condemnation.

I wonder what they mean by targeted sanctions? Is it just sanctioning certain settlers?

I'll believe it when i see it

I think this is essentially a response to the trade war with America. Threat of sanctions from America is why so many countries support isreal, but now with the trade war there's not much to lose.

`threaten targetted sanctions´ hot air like always

Yes, it's just talk and I doubt Netanyaou would take it seriously.

Don't (just) threaten sanctions. Do raise sanctions. Israel is already blocking humanitarian aid.

To shut our governments up, they're allowing a small amount in. Netanyahu and his allies in the Knesset are even apologizing to their citizens for it.

Netanyahu defends Gaza aid resumption, acknowledges step stemmed from allies’ pressure

PM stresses need to avoid bad optics of starvation; dozens of trucks said ready to enter; far-right parties divided on move, but neither threatens to exit in protest

(...)

Israel’s “greatest friends in the world,” he said, including senators but without mentioning specific nationalities, had said there was “one thing we cannot stand. We cannot accept images of hunger, mass hunger. We cannot stand that. We will not be able to support you.”

Netanyahu said the situation had been approaching a “red line” and a “dangerous point,” but it was not clear if he was referring to the crisis in Gaza or the potential loss of support from allies.
