I'm currently having a native wild garden on my balcony and it's fascinating to see how such a small area can harbor such a diversity in life whereas it would normally be devoid of any life. I see bees, bumblebees, wasps, flies, all kinds of spiders, moths, butterflies. And that's just one balcony.

We see bugs as something nasty to get rid of. Farmers see them as a nuisance and poison not only them but us too with pesticides. There was a news story the other day how a majority of the plants you buy from a garden center are also contaminated with pesticides, killing insects that visit it.

And the cure can be as simple as doing nothing and let nature take over in certain areas. I visited a food forest this weekend and they had a canal which they didn't trim the sides of. It was absolutely filled with thousands of flying critters. It was unreal. And it took no effort whatsoever.

Be kind to nature man. And fuck everyone treating their profits as holier than nature.

The growing silence of nature will go unnoticed until all we have is a roaring silence of our failures as a species.
