I've been working on a guide to getting started on Lemmy. What do you think I should add?

I think you should post this over to !fedigrow@lemmy.zip or one of the other communities for growing lemmy and helping new joiners. You are likely duplicating effort.

Thanks but this guide is a bit too oversimplified, which is guaranteed to leave the user with question marks after a few minutes of using it.

And I also dislike the hardcoding of recommended instances (lemmy.world and lemmy.ml).

Perhaps you could write up the sort of guide you are talking about so I can see what you mean? I haven't found people respond well to hitting them with much more than this upfront, and they get anxious when you don't give them some specific recommendations to get started.

I think the unofficial fediverse logo is a nice visual aid for these concepts!
