let's say they finally step over the imaginary line and just start arresting tons of D lawmakers for whatever reason? governors, senators, reps, whatever

predictions? mine is the dems just roll over and curl their limbs in, begging for mercy, while the disorganized masses of liberals just swirl around leaderless and upset

They'd start collaborating. More than the usual

"Our strategists have told us we need to become even more racist and surely this will appease our colleagues on the other side of the aisle."

Bill of Bill and Ted has something to say.

That's it. We have now crossed the line, the point of no return, the Rubicon. We're talking at least thirty hours of speech-making, followed by a rigorous book tour. The moment demands nothing less.

Senator Schumer and Representative Jefferies meet in the Windy City that was also known as Chicago and it was good. And lo Senator Schumer said unto Representative Jefferies "How are your sales doing, bro? Can I call ya bro? I feel like I can! We're both on book tours?" And Representative Jefferies said "You can call me bro. You can..." and he sang "You Can Call Me Al" And there was much mirth. But Representative Jefferies had hidden anger in his heart. He hateth the term "bro".

I agree. But I'll add that they'll make a lot of "This will not stand," speeches.

"This will not stand!" the 81 year old gerontocract yells before their knees wobble out from under them and they immediately sit.

If republicans actually threatenen democrats, democrats might actually adopt some leftist policies to save their necks on the line.

He should've brought the american flag with him, I've heard liberals say that's how you get fascists to listen.

A dem rep arrives a room where Noem is giving a speech...

"I am US Representative Mike Dip-shit and I am waving this American flag. Therefore you cannot—" Noem's goons have swarmed him. They knock him down take out their portable truncheons and beat him savagely. One of them said "Gun." And other - almost laughing - said "He's got a knife too!" They do this in full view of the media. In fact - they knocked over two reporters and a cameraman in their haste to get to Dip-shit. Noem watches and into the mic she says he deserves it and the agents need to hit him harder so they do.

Within five minutes Trump posts that "Mike Dip-shit attacked the very, very brave and very, very strong DHS agents and hee will be charged with numerous federal felony crimes including disrespecting the flag." About 30 minutes later the DOJ issues the most bizarre charging document it ever has put out. It's a single sentence.

Mike Dip-shit attacked the very, very brave and very, very strong DHS agents and hee will be charged with numerous federal felony crimes including disrespecting the flag.

ICE agents are being doxxed? They need to pass a law calling them secret police so everyone will know their identities are secret.

To be fair, Democrats love getting the opportunity to be performatively victimized by Republicans almost as much as they love brutalizing the unhoused. I look forward to hearing for the first time about how This Is Not Who We Are As a Nation™

It's not a police state unless it's from Asia sweetie, this is just sparkling martial law.

The fox news article about this says he lunged at Noem and apparently she was saying this right before:

(DHS) was "staying here to liberate this city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into this city."
