The Bell Riots are about a year late. :(

[-] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 3 points 10 months ago

Oh jeez I knew I was forgetting something.

[-] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Sadly WW3 is scheduled for right after so hopefully some humans are left to greet the Vulcans

[-] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 2 points 10 months ago

Makes me wonder if April 5, 2063 is still the date of the fly by. Could we be off by a year?

[-] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 10 months ago

And a few miles south.

[-] darthelmet@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Clearly they invaded California for their strategic reserve of almonds. I wish that was more of a joke than it is given how many places we've actually messed with for the sake of some random luxury produce.

Chiquita Banana says hi.

Watch out Mexico. These avocado toasts don't grow on trees, ya'know.

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 10 months ago

Now avocados are controlled by the cartels. ๐Ÿ™„

I'm over the world police bs. Cause just like at home, the police do nothing good.

[-] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 10 months ago

Nope, same old same old.

Look at a map of LA

Now look at a map of the grimes oil field.

[-] Etterra@discuss.online 8 points 10 months ago

Congratulations, masked, armed coward; you are now officially a state-sponsored terrorist.

[-] Hikuro93@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

And why did America invade America? Because America intends to get rich off of America's oil.

Los angeles is literally sitting atop one of the biggest oil fields in the country.

They say history doesn't exactly repeat itself, but it damn sure seems to rhyme a hell of a lot of the time.

[-] Liljekonvalj@feddit.org 8 points 10 months ago

Gosh darn it, if only she had a Pepsi right there.

[-] yggstyle@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

That went well then... kinda like the problem never really went away.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 6 points 10 months ago

Better than invading other countries, I guess. Keeps the shitfuckery local.

[-] Alpha71@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I will admit that I did not have "start of the American civil war" On my 2025 Bingo card. I thought it was a couple more years away.

[-] Photuris@lemmy.ml 7 points 10 months ago

I did. Fascism moves fast.

[-] pdxfed@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

After Jan I said we'd have national guard in progressive strongholds within 2 years. Didn't think they'd go only months later. Oh well, down seems to be the only way to get to up from our current predicament and the fast we hit bottom and more folks experience pain, the sooner we can grow collective values that bind us together again and take the reins back. Hope the fog clears again in my lifetime.

Same lol.

Technically it started as late as 2020, and as early as 2014.

It's also a matter of forced perspective. The armed dude is aiming far away from the woman.

[-] NichEherVielleicht@feddit.org -4 points 10 months ago

4 days old account trying to distract, very suspicious....

[-] jjmoldy@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

How is that a distraction? I saw this post, knew that I'd seen this photo before, and commented the year it's from. Please go ahead and explain what is objectionable about that.

Caeser has already crossed the Rubicon.

[-] frightful_hobgoblin@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

there's beaucoups of oil in the Usa

[-] Jikiya@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

In LA even. Don't remember where I read it, but did read an article that there are tones of oil dereks in LA, but they all have a facade on the outside to make it look like a normal building.

The La Brea tar pits are a type of hydrocarbon after all.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 10 months ago

Yeah California and Texas actually have the oil industry behind all their bullshit posturing about economic ideologies.

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

Been looking forward to a new Civil War
