It is, and yet they are not the same thing Auto = Extension of your phone, Automotive = OS for your car.

Imagine not having an infotainment screen that runs windows CE with no features except Bluetooth.

Bluetooth is all you need, my car just has a basic CD player and Bluetooth. I got one of those iottie wireless charging suction clamps so my phone gets cinched by that and its at a perfect height so it does block more view than the hood but isn't as low as an infotainment. I much prefer it to my wife's car with an info thing because with hers I have to glance further down to check GPS

Navigation displays should all be in your field of view while you can see the road. I'm kind of blown away that no one does eye tracking to auto dim displays yet either.
