For me, I am hoping to see discounts on:

  • Steam Deck OLED
  • Expedition 33 (probably worth the full price but I am not sure if the timing based combat is for me)
  • Fantasy Life i
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Final Fantasy IX, if it's cheap enough. I beat the game on PS1 but I've been itching to replay it on Steam Deck.

Maybe the Lunar remaster or Deltarune if they drop low enough, but it's kind of doubtful because they're both new.

Basically if anything on my wish list hits my 75% or under five dollar rule I'll probably pick it up.

-A price for Stray that reflects its playtime.
-A price for Cyberpunk 2077 that I'm willing to pay (not sure what that is, unhelpfully)
-A good price for Balatro
-Oh and if A Hat in Time could be discounted...

Cyberpunk is 60% off on GOG right now.

[-] Flamekebab@piefed.social 8 points 8 hours ago

That brings it down to £20. I think I'm up for going to about £12, given that I've not played any of their other games.

Stray needs to either add more content or reduce the price.

CP2077 - I am 6 hours in but I am still not enjoying the gameplay. I might try again after completing other games in my backlog.

Just wanted to say: Expedition 33 is worth experiencing just as a work of art. If you don't vibe with the combat, they just made story mode easier in the latest patch so you can just focus on the narrative.

I personally not only found it worth paying full price for, but actually chose to upgrade to Deluxe Edition to support the devs.

Fun fact, story mode is canonically called the Jennifer English mode. She wanted to play it but knew that she couldn't parry, so the devs included a story mode for her.

Regarding two of your items, the Steam Deck OLED is out of stock, and last I heard Valve isn't expecting to have more until the end of summer. As for Fantasy Life i, it's been selling extremely well, over a million copies sold in its first month. I wouldn't expect to see a significant discount on it for a while.

[-] cloudless@piefed.social 6 points 7 hours ago

That's okay I am a very patient gamer. I can probably wait until the next summer.

The Steam Deck OLED currently appears to be in stock in my region, but unlikely to have a discount.

Flight Simulator 2020? at a price that reflects how long I would spend with it. I'm still salty about the time it was accidentally 80% off instead of 20% and they snatched it right out of my shopping basket.

[-] cloudless@piefed.social 5 points 8 hours ago

When I saw the videos of flight sim I thought it was very interesting. Then I had a chance to try it on Game Pass, I didn't want to continue after the first takeoff. I guess I would never be a pilot.

has the steamdeck updated its specs at all since release? im curious how much sense it makes to buy one now vs waiting for the next iteration that will be more future proof

  • Elden ring at 50% or less
  • Some small detective games like Obra Dinn or The Observer (got those already, but anything similar)
  • Any of the other 100+ games on my wishlist at very good discounts
[-] Wrufieotnak@feddit.org 1 points 21 minutes ago

Some small detective games like Obra Dinn or The Observer (got those already, but anything similar) "Case of the Golden Idol" is exactly that. "Lucifer within us" is also a contender, but the story somehow doesn't feel like a full game, more like a prologue to another game.

[-] cloudless@piefed.social 3 points 7 hours ago

The only detective games I like are the Ace Attorney games. I am hoping to see a fully voiced Ace Attorney game.

Okami to $3.75 out of historical interest. It's not really my kind of game, but as a fan of The Wonderful 101, I'd like to trace the genealogy of the wonder-liner back to the celestial brush.

It will also be nice to own another Kamiya game.

[-] cloudless@piefed.social 3 points 7 hours ago

I tried Okami back in PS2 times. It had a painfully slow start and a very long tutorial. I liked the art style but ended up dropping it forever.

[-] mohab@piefed.social 3 points 7 hours ago

Yeah, the intro is too long, but apparently the HD remaster makes it skippable.

My issue with the gameplay is two-fold: (1) I don't typically enjoy the Zelda-like, semi-open-world discovery, and (2) for a Kamiya game, combat is surprisingly too easy?

I'll probably have moderate amount of fun playing it, but I don't predict I'll hang out for the 100% after, which's why I'll wait for the historical low.
