China is right to be skeptical of the US. But this might be a case where they're somewhat aligned. Beijing probably would rather Iran not have nukes since that would make them a much more powerful player in the region. And China is very energy dependent on oil imports. If the straight is closed, that would greatly impact Chinese industry.

Yes. Apparently Putin does too since he recently mentioned that they might give nukes to Iran.
Here's what I believe out of all this:
- Iran is a totalitarian theocracy that has been trying to develop nukes for a long time.
- Everyone except the Iranian government would rather Iran not have nukes. It would essentially be the middle eastern version of North Korea.
- Israel attacked a lot of Iran's air defenses and convinced Trump this was a unique opportunity to strike Iranian nuclear sites. Israel doesn't have the capability since they don't have bunker busters and the sites are underground. They probably convinced him he would be seen as bringing peace to the middle east which is why he ended his post about peace.
- Trump legit thinks this is a 1 time thing and he can be done with it. He's not trying to turn Iran into a puppet state, just wipe out their nuclear capability.
- Trump is wrong and we're going to be dragged into another war in the middle east. Just because Iran's military couldn't attack the US, doesn't mean there won't be consequences. I think trump is too stupid to see that far ahead.
What I foresee is Iran closing the straight, which will raise oil prices, which will raise US gas prices. This is when MAGA representatives will break with trump because he will be incapable of walking back or expressing regret. I also foresee Iran trying some 9/11 style attack on the US, dragging America back into the middle east.
If you think Iran's nuclear program was entirely about nuclear energy, I've got a bridge over the straight or Hormuz to sell you.

Iran is a s religious country ruled by the supreme leader , Khamenei had released a religious decree prohibiting the use of nukes. So no Iran is not pursuing nukes or even getting it from Russia . Another BS , both Israel and America want a regime change. From Israel perspective they want to destroy or control any country that effetely support Palestinian liberation movements. Iran support for Palestinian is of course based on geopolitics but still they are supporting Palestinians. China is in bed with Iran and Russia with regards to BRICS. I find it very unlikely China is going to do anything to get in between Israel and Iran, and even if they do, its clear to me which side they'll choose.
