Bro was realistic.

Do you keep a client list of your parties? Do you keep a diary of your illegal activities? Would you allow someone else to have that?!

And even if such a thing would exist, is there any reason to keep such a list after the party? After the planning? After the rich and famous left? No man, the only thing that remains are photos, memories and crazy stories.

Sure, there are people who went there. Sure, there was crazy, scary stuff going on at those parties.

Which is exactly the reason why such a list doesn't exist.

It was another maga bullshit conspiracy story which backfired spectaculary.

I'm confused. Epstein definitely did the crimes of trafficking children to be raped by wealthy people.

Why would a client list not be a real?

[-] obsoleteacct@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 weeks ago

Even if there isn't a document with a big header that says "Client List" and firm documentation of what crimes were committed, we know there are flight logs, there are victim statements, and there are records of financial transactions.

That is absolutely enough to bring charges against at least some of these people. We are accepting a false narrative that there has to be some chiseled in stone singular document listing bad actors.

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

I think it's very possible there isn't an actual "client list".

I think it's more about making a list of visitors to the island that have somehow supported Epstein around that time.

"Have some fun on my island. Also, can you help me get a loan and this bill passed?"

[-] rbos@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 weeks ago

I fully expected there to be a safe somewhere full of blackmail dossiers. Though I'm sure that has been put to the torch by now, if it ever existed. The best we can do now is compile lists from secondary sources.

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

Blackmail dossiers would also contribute to determining clients yeah. So flight logs, weird lobby stuff, suspicious messages, mysterious meetings, statements from children and wives of these men, etc.

[-] aceshigh@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

Because Epstein didn’t have a file in excel called “client list”, but there are trusted sources that when put together create a pedophile list.

didn't this dickhead also pose with an "I'm speaking" t-shirt after Harris used it to silence anti genocide protesters?

anyway i hope people remember this next time they read It and reach the part that was very predictably left out from the movie

classic liberal.

they are preferable to conservatives, just like a bowl of sawdust is preferable to a bowl of poisoned feces.

It costs nothing to shut the fuck up.

A this guy writes shitty books. There, I said it. Come fucking get me.

Go read some Brandon Sanderson novels, which are amazing.

[-] DrSteveBrule@mander.xyz 2 points 4 weeks ago

I've only read the first Mistborn book so far but Sanderson had absolutely no prose in his writing. I don't want to be too critical since that was one of his first books two decades ago, but it felt like I was reading something written by a high schooler. However, the actual story and plot were amazing. I'm definitely going to continue reading his books with the hope that he doesn't continue to write "Vin rolled her eyes" 300 more times. His magic system is really well thought out and the characters are very believable and likeable. King on the other hand, is kind of the exact opposite. His prose is top notch but he usually writes about fuck all. I'm currently on the final Dark Tower book and it's a slog to get through. I liked most of the previous books in the series so I'm determined to finish it, but you can tell he just makes shit up as he goes. I think King excels with his short stories, even the best Dark Tower book in my opinion is a sort of spin off from the rest. Like I said, I'll gladly keep reading through Sanderson's works for now but I really hope he learns to become engaging with his actual words on the paper.

Reading Sanderson is like reading an instruction manual. It is certainly words, and it sure has some information, but that's about where the experience ends. It doesn't exactly light up the imagination.

Dude can write an entire book and you come out of it unclear as to whether or not there are any trees in that world. Could have just as easily taken place on a slice of cheese.

So he's afraid of being on it. That's all there is to this.

Whether the list is literally real or not doesn't matter at this point. It's whether you can trust whatever list this administration produces.

[-] Furbag@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Should Stephen King get checked out for brain damage? Possible stroke? He's pulling a Fetterman with this shitty take.

The only sense I can make is that he's saying the administration lied about it as a prop to get elected.

But, of course, prominent Nazi Pam Bondi said it was on her desk AFTER the election. And Republicans just voted not to release something they claim doesn't exist. And logic states that if it does exist and it exonerates Trump they'd be plastering it on every wall in every city, town, and village in America. Sooooooooo.......

Can I just say, I don’t think that the (plaintext) client list is real.
