People born in 2013 will be able to vote.
Possibly the only good thing this government has done.
For the next 50 years it's also the only thing you're gonna hear about Starmer's government from liberals. It's just constantly gonna be "He gave 16 year olds the vote!" every single time his name is mentioned. It'll be his legacy if the gov manages to avoid subsequent attempts to get an independent investigation for complicity in Palestinian genocide.
"And the Next prime minister of the UK is... Andrew Tate!"
Good change but it doesn't look like ot's actually happened yet. Is it certain that Labor can actually do it?
Labour still have an enormous majority, and there's no reason to think the party would revolt over this - it was a manifesto pledge.
inb4 the king will veto this and there'll be a host of articles about how it's a good thing actually
For what it is worth I don't see him ever actually vetoing a parliament decision. Him being able to is basically a technicality and more trouble than it's actually worth since 1, Labour still have a supermajority within parliament and 2, it'd lead to a constitutional crisis. There is a reason no monarch has actually done it in more than 300 years.
Jezza has the opportunity to do a complete pivot to Gen alphas and become PM for 18 years.
Well, he'd be 80 by the next general election, and I doubt he'd still be doing this at 98 lol.
One Corbyn term followed by three Sultana terms though, now that I'd be up for.
Will sultana initiate a succession crisis and become sultana of the UK tho
Been that way in austria for years, so nothing cracy.
What they hope for, Starmerjugend or something?
Voting in a general bougie election for 16yr olds with the state of the internet as it is? Specially in Harry Potter land?
