The more this happens to me, the more I'm convinced it's intentional.

I just want to say that I think its really unfair for all of you ADHD people to be posting things day after day that I relate to so heavily, as a definitely not ADHD person.

Sigh I guess I should start scheduling some appointments

Yep, by no means exclusive to adhd.

I can't count the amount of times I've found myself in my bedroom or kitchen, with, like, a hammer in one hand and computer mouse in the other, not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

If you go back to where you came from the thought might reappear. Happened more than once to me.

I thought the same for quite a long time, and admittedly, im still not convinced that i dont have adhd, but i did recently learn i have a folate deficiency. That can lead to a type of anemia, and in combination gave me a lot of symptoms that looks like adhd (memory loss, fatigue, inability to concentrate, lack of fucks to give, brain fog). A simple supplement did a ton to get me back on track

[-] apotheotic@beehaw.org 3 points 2 days ago

Huh, neat. Glad you found a solution!

[-] Bosht@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Bro please tell me what supplements I can try. I'm diagnosed, but at the same time have had bisacally that list of symptoms and much heavier than I normally have with ADD.

Personally i take folic acid (vitamin B9). I get Basic brand and its 400mcg, 200 count, for $8 (im in america).

A lot of multivitamin ive had in the past seemingly omit B9 for some reason

Appreciate the info. Honestly after reading this I took a plunge and went for A D K as well. I'll see what I can dig up on B9. Thanks!

Nah, I think they are confused, I also don't have ADHD and can relate to most posts here.

Same. But, I'm just old.

[-] sprite0@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 days ago

oh most definitely

this actually just reminded me of two things i have been meaning to add to my shopping list all day too lol

[-] Harriet_Porber@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

so did you actually add them to the list?

(very much not trying to throw shade ๐Ÿ˜‚)

[-] sprite0@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Yep i got them into my cart i went right immediately after clicking submit on my comment and managed to stay the course. Cat food and soy sauce lol.

[-] theangryseal@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

You gonna do what I do and buy all the wrong shit anyway, then get halfway home and remember, turn around and go back to the store, then forget again but remember something you needed last week?

Oh yeah, and then find your list right before bed.

no! I have almost beat this game by switching to grocery pickup! If i go in the store i get overwhelmed and always spend way more than i meant to on impulse purchases and forget other things even with a list.

My local stores let me assemble my grocery cart over days and when it's time i just go and they bring them out to my car. My list is just my cart now. Started this during covid and it really changed things for me!

I do this, and it's getting worse with age. I also have Bipolar, wich is a hell of a fun mix. I asked my psychiatrist, and she told me that it was expected, since it was changing focus continuously, and thus didn't have time to fix (fixate) things.

Something that sometimes works is the thing where you look right to left and back a few times rapidly

[-] i_dont_want_to@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 22 hours ago

I shook my head like a snow globe and I still have no clue what's going on.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Is it just my ADHD, or is this comment completely unintelligible?

Honestly, I don't have the slightest clue what you're trying to say. What did you ask your psychiatrist? What does their answer mean? What is expected?

[-] Unforeseen@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

It makes sense, they are referring to the image in the post.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I get that but I still have the same questions.

[-] Bosht@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I've never heard this! That actually works???

[-] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Try it. If it doesn't work, I'll give you your money back.

[-] TRock@feddit.dk 5 points 2 days ago

Yep, it's horrible ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚
