Oh, they'll freeze prices.... after they finish jacking them up to even more outrageous levels.

Then, once the high prices are frozen, they can continue their goal to shrinkflate every goddamn item in the store.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh slammed the Liberals' approach on grocery prices during a news conference last week, saying their "plan to ask CEOs nicely to reduce prices is ridiculous"

Heck, I bet even the conservatives agree with this and it makes them feel all funny, like the time they were in the 6th grade and had a hot substitute teacher. They will never admit it though

Obviously they have committed to price freezes. That was no doubt their idea. The world price of food is falling rapidly, so they will lock in to not suffer from lower prices later. But they want to lock in at the market peak, so it may take a little bit longer. We're getting real close, but not quite there yet on the retail side.
