Among the Rs it's pretty much just her, Thomas Massie, and sometimes Rand Paul. The number on the D's can mostly be counted on one hand as well but it might be a bit bigger.

It's time to admit the uncomfortable truth. When it comes to foreign actors influencing our democracy, Russia and China are close to nothing in comparison to Israel.

If a politician can't denounce at least one of AIPAC or Israel then just call them what they are. A traitor who is owned by a foreign government. Sadly that's 90% of congress.

Odd question. Under the establishing principles of the US government, does congress have sovereign authority if is owned by a foreign government? I'm starting to view our federal government as being entirely illegitimate.

The tail does not wag the dog. Israel has some counter-influence, but it is a vassel of the US Empire, not the other way around. The Russian Federation and People's Republic of China do not have nearly the sway you think they do either.

Why are we putting so much positive attention on a literal anti-semite? She is a terrible person, motivated by her terrible opinions, who happened to (for entirely different reasons) have a somewhat decent take on israel and aipac. This person was talking about fucking jewish space lasers like 5 years ago. She isn't trustworthy, she isn't woke, stop humanizing her.

@procapra Stop AIPAC
They have a loophole that gives them privileges no one else has.
Foreign Agents.
Besides that, some of them have been outright spies, like Jonathan Pollard
What we give them is not enough.
They have to steal, because theft and lying are their business.

One question. Which is a greater moral crime? Being an anti-semite or stealing resources from the American people and giving it to Israel to bomb children? Can you prove that she is an anti-semite and not just attempting to counter the AIPAC control grid. Because you know AIPAC is going to do everything it can to get the American public to conflate those two.

But even if she were an anti-semite, for which you have no evidence, she would still be morally superior to 90%+ of congress just for opposing genocide.

You are calling someone with a nasty personality worse than people who organize genocide. Maybe given that circumstance she should have a nasty personality. You should vote on policy anyway. An asshole who has the right conclusions is doing more for you than a gladhander with a progressive message who is willing to help murder children if it means staying in power.

a stopped watch being right twice a day doesn't make it a good timeteller for that minute. a good timeteller is a quality that is earned by reliability and trustworthiness and consistency. so too with a politician. I don't need to hear a person say "I am an antisemite. I hate jews." to observe that "jewish space lasers caused the wildfires" is a thing that would only occur to a mentally unwell antisemite (a bit redundant i know) to say in the circumstances.

"nasty personality" what a polite expression. would you care to be any more specific in your praise?

[-] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 day ago

she believes that california catches fire multiple times per year because of "jewish space lasers" and that jews are conspiring to "flood europe with migrants to outbreed white people"

she's an unhinged far-right conspiracy theorist, she does not give a shit about the genocide, she just hates jews

You know European settlers are cooked when they start to throw their fellow European settlers from across the Atlantic ocean under the bus.. Such opportunistic bunch even amongst themselves..

Understand this, eurosettler, that the US was never founded in democracy, or anything of the sort. You are currently sitting on stolen land. That land you're comfortably sitting on belongs to the indigenous, Native Americans, whom had their land pried off their hands with blood all over.

And so, as we know, the US is an empire on top of stolen land. Understand this important context, get this through your head. The US and other Western countries necessarily need the settler-colony on top of Palestine as it serves their geopolitical interests in West Asia. Not the other way around. A strong West Asia would spell economic trouble for the imperialist, colonizer, hegemonic West.

An empire of the US' type literally does not have "Russian" or Chinese agents, xenophobic European settler. Stop blaming your own problems on others that have literally nothing to do with what goes in or out of ballot boxes.

That said, the settler-colony occupying Palestine depends on their European ilk to be sustained and maintained with as many weapons, intelligence and what have you. You take away that support, and the settler-colony is basically no more. The settler-colony is on a perpetual life support.

And it's not just that, if for example the US ordered the settler-colony to stop, which they can, the settler-colony listens, knowing not to bite the hand that feeds.

I take it that you're not a read-y type, so please do yourself a favor and watch these videos from start to finish without skipping a second:

Every US President is a War Criminal

America never stood for Freedom

The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine and The Creation of Israel (How We Got Here)

The History and Failures of the Democratic Party

It's time for YOU to admit the uncomfortable truth, that you are a European settler that is only bothered and moved when your treats are threatened to be taken away, not when a genocide, ethnic cleansing, land stealing, or etc.. is happening.

[-] Samsuma@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago

Holy shit what the fuck is wrong with you, I think I was too soft on you..

[-] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 1 day ago

Out of context, that seems really great, but MTG is the Jewish Space Lasers nut. She doesn't care about the genocide, she just hates Jews.

[-] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 8 points 1 day ago

Congress is scared of AIPAC because AIPAC is there at every election. They'll support primary challengers and the other party in every election, not just the ones with high turnout.

When people complain about how these special interests have filled politics, it is because a lot of the left political organizations became neutered in the 1960's for various reasons and organizations like AIPAC filled the void.

[-] Dogiedog64@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Not just for "various reasons"; their leaders and members were EXPLICITLY targeted, harassed, and even assassinated by the FBI and CIA for DARING to speak out and act against social injustice. Was it illegal? You fucking betcha. Did they know that? Definitely! Did that stop them? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT.

[-] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

MTG is an antisemitic lunatic so I suppose she's fairly unlikely to be a shill for Israel, which if you don't think about it even a little bit could be a point in her favor...

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago

Stop trying to make me like her. It's not going to work.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

You don't have to like her. You can acknwoledge she is right in this instance without thinking she is a good person

[-] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

She's not right on this issue. You know how your math teacher made you show your work before marking you correct?

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

Which part is wrong? The statement that 5 millions being not a lot in a 347 millions population? About aipac breaking the law? About aipac need to register under the foreign agents registration? About the need to work for american only and not a terrorist state called israel?

[-] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 0 points 5 hours ago

the antisemitism is the part where she's wrong

if your first principles are wrong it doesn't matter what conclusions you come to

when you come to implementing your solutions it's those first principles that direct what you compromise and in what ways you adapt to real world circumstances.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago

I know she is antisemite and that the statements doesn't makes her a good person becuase of her motivations but none of those statements in this specific tweet is wrong or antisemitic

[-] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 hours ago

okay you're just gonna pretend I didn't just say that and say your last thing again

you are literally an unthinking individual

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 0 points 1 hour ago

you are an idiot who want to hear only what you want to hear. I agree with you that she is an antisemite . I'm just saying that politicians in the USA should only serve there people and not being controlled by aipac and pledge alliance to Israel. How hard it is for you to understand that?

[-] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 0 points 19 minutes ago

I made my point you chose not to respond to it.

[-] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Social media users, as a group, are immune to nuance.

A thing is either good or bad, if you say anything good about a bad thing then you are also bad.

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 day ago

"Nuance", in this case, would be to recognize that she is a raging anti-Semite. Her position here is anything but altruistic.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Nuance would be that yes she is antisemite but that it's true that aipac need to register and that American politicians should work for American only and not for the terrorist state of Israel

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 day ago

Nah, man. Nuance would be looking past the surface level of, "Well, she's not wrong", and realize that it has nothing to do with empathy towards Palestinians, or moral outrage over Israel's genocide in Gaza. With her, it's just, "Jews bad. Get out of my country".

Even though, on the surface, it might "look like" you have some common ground...is that really something you "agree with"? It doesn't matter how similar her position "appears" to be to my own...I understand completely that at the root, we are nowhere near the same. Not even when we agree on something.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Like i said she is an antisemite and i know her ulterior motive. Still aipac and the genocide need to be stopped it's will not happen with democrats alone. You can trash her while agreeing that aipac need to stop influencing and threatening anti Palestine occupation and anti genocide people and that all usa politicians need to only serve the usa. Similar to Tuck , he is definitely a trash person and a white supremacist but when he bring a person like a nun from occupied Palestine it may convince some Christians to not support Israel

[-] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Nuance, in this case means recognizing that even raging anti-Semites can say things that are true.

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Sure. For disgusting and abhorrent reasons.

I gotta say, I like MTG's anti establishment leanings.

Honesty, it makes me see the appeal of that brand of MAGA. Same with the occasional thing from Steve Banon.

I mean, I wouldn’t vote for them without basically reversing entire platforms and disavowing a lot of people, and MTG's a schoolyard bully getting attention. But the dems could learn a thing or two. And learn they don’t have to lick the boots of lobbyists to win over voters.

[-] eldavi@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 day ago

in a world where aoc votes to block mtg's attempt to stop sending weapons to isreal with the excuse that defensive weapons are okay and bernie keeps repeating zionist talking points; but both aoc and bernie are regarded as the "left" somehow; there's A LOT that needs to be learned.

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

These people lick just as much oligarch boot, and Trump himself is one such oligarch whose boot they lick.

bourgeois elections don't constitute a democracy and blaming russia and china to any degree for this country's descent into fascism is baseless xenophobia with no basis in reality. also, israel serves america's imperialist interests, not the other way around.

[-] x0x7@lemmy.world -5 points 1 day ago

When did Israel fight in one of our wars?

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 day ago

Are you kidding me? They just recently helped us regime change Syria. Israel is our unsinkable aircraft carrier in West Asia. Genocide Joe has said many times that, “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region.
