I understand that you foxy folks love your extensions and scripts, and I'm wondering if I could be happy amongst you.

In Vivaldi (and previously in Opera), I have used vertical tabs for I think twenty years. As you can see in the screenshot, Vivaldi lets me list the tabs vertically, shows previews for them, lets me group the tabs into "stacks", and lets me tile any number of tabs on the window at once. I don't think I could use a browser without these features.

I also use mouse gestures very heavily, to open tabs, windows, switch between tabs and windows, reload pages, etc. Vivaldi and Opera have really robust mouse gesture support built in.

How close can I get to these features natively or with extensions?

TIA!

Try out the Firefox fork Zen. It has vertical tabs, split-tab view, workspaces to group sets of tabs, and works with firefox containers for creating isolated tabs if needed for multiple accounts and such.

I don't believe it has full size tab previews like your screenshot though.

You can also try Floorp which has vertical tabs and mouse gestures.

Reading, thank you. Never heard of either!

Floorp looks pretty close - I think I could work with this. The documentation is not terribly specific but it's worth a try at least.

Yeah, easy enough to poke around to see if it's a good fit!

Really appreciate the help. I know I need to switch off of chromium but I've tried Firefox serveral times over the decades and disliked it.
